Arctic Adventure Slot Machine
Being at the height of summer, looking at Arctic Adventure feels like a beer at the end of a long day. Cool, refreshing and very relaxing. So is this WorldMatch HD slot game the icy delight it promises to be?
Crystal Clear
This game really is amazing to look at. The level of detail in the ice background makes you feel like you are watching a Pixar film like Finding Nemo, Up or perhaps the better choice of one of the Ice Age titles. You wouldn’t be surprised if a polar bear came out of nowhere and waved. The icy hills have layers and there is sparkly ice in the sky.
The fact there is no obvious distinction between the left and right side means you really get a sense of landscape. The game’s title is put centrally at the top in super frosted lettering, with the buttons all at the bottom. Right in prominent front is the 3 row, 5 boxes game itself, and the 9 paylines are helpfully highlighted in bright colours on the side to stand out.
There are 12 different symbols. The purple Ace, light blue King, dark blue Queen and green Jack don’t stray far from the icy theme, and blend in well with the other symbols. The seal is definitely the cutest, the ship the most imaginative, the small tent the quirkiest and and the North Pole direction sign the funniest. Sadly, neither the seal, ship or any other Arctic sound effects are part of the sound, either when playing or when on a bonus. However, the symbols do change to a more greying shade when on pause. It’s a neat touch.
Ice and Easy to Play
This game is gloriously fun. There are no complex instructions but that doesn’t mean there’s a shortage of variety play. The more ambitious you are on this game, the more you can win. You can play for either 1 line, or increase that to 3, 5, 7 or 9, which are accompanied by a graphic along the reels. There are 8 options for the bet level, 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100 or 200 credits.
The Start/stop button in the middle is useful, with the other ones allowing you to head straight to 200 by going to the Max button, or let the game spin for you. Here the Autoplay is extremely flexible and highly impressive. You can set it for either 5, 10, 25, 50, 100, 500 or 1,000 spins. Winnings are paid left to right, with the highest line being paid. Any winnings on multiple lines are added.
The other icons are the silver bearded Wildcard explorer, the Scatter sign and the ice pick. The awesomely shaded guy is the one you’ll want most. If you get 5 of them you’ll get a very cool 5,000 spins. Even 4 of them gets you 2,000.
The polar bear will get you 3,000 spins if you get 5, and 1,000 for 4. Five of the majestic ship gets you 2,500 for 5 and 500 spins for 4. Those are the 3 you’ll really be looking for. The Scatter symbol, useful though it is, only gets you up to 100 spins for 5.
Wild about Antarctic Bonuses
The wildcard symbol allows you to get the highest payout by replacing all but 2 symbols to ensure the winning line is completed. These are the Bonus Game and Scatter Winnings symbols. Scatter winnings are multiplied by the number of total number of credits bet.
When you get Bonus Game symbols you’ll also get a free special game, along with the spins as specified above, depending on whether you get 2, 3, 4 or 5. This game takes place with 5 columns of ice boxes, filled with either 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 coins. You have to choose the bottom box in the order of your choice with credits then available.
While the total win and hits are clearly shown, it isn’t especially clear how it works. This is rare, as for the most part the rules are explained well, both in the instructions and by the paytable page.
Brrrr-illiant
This ice kingdom game is a sub-zero treasure. There are plenty of chances for high credit wins, it’s not complicated to play and its visually striking. You can also use the toolbar game so as to use shortcut keys and print off a screen to show off to share on social media.
The bonus round could be better explained and the music more fitting to the Arctic theme, but those are mere icicles in the ocean. There’s plenty of fun to be had with this.
