Jingle Bells Ride Slot Machine
I’m personally not the biggest fan of Christmas slots. They tend to be cheesy, overly ‘nice’ and, well, just a little too ‘cute’ for me. After taking this mobile compatible Christmas slot from Viaden through its paces I’d love to be able to tell you that I have changed my mind. Alas no. While this is a nicely put together 5 reel video slot (and does include a bonus game), it still has all the clichés. If you enjoy this kind of slot read on, there are still some very good reasons you might want to play.
In the background of the reels you’ll find the typical winter wonderland type view. This includes snow covered cottages with smoke coming from chimneys – evoking thoughts of a roaring fire. Symbols include reindeer, a stocking filled with gifts, penguins, Santa and playing card symbols which are made to look like the baubles you get on Xmas trees. There are animations when winning combinations come in, think dancing penguins and you’ll be on the right track.
In the background a sweet and annoying tune plays. This manages to be Christmassy, yet indistinct – the kind of tune they might play in the lift at a shopping centre at Xmas. Spinning the reels gets a chime, and some noises for wins (ho, ho, ho for example), though this is not too in-your face.
There is just the single bonus feature for this game, which is a pick-em game involving fireworks.
Setup and Play for Jingle Bells Ride
There 5 win lines on this 5 reel, 3 row slot – and you are free to choose how many to play for each spin. The smallest coin is 10c, making 50c the minimum spin for all lines. $4.50c is the max spin amount. Viaden has two play features included in every slot. These are the ability to gamble after wins by betting on the flip of a playing card. The other one is auto-play. This allows up to 2000 spins and can be configured before you start to stop when certain events (for example the feature) happens.
You’ll want to see the elf (at least that is what I assume the green guy in the Santa hat is) on the reels as much as possible. This is the wild symbol and will substitute for all of the regular symbols (though not the bonus one). This symbol also has the biggest prizes by a long way. 5 on a win-line will get you 9000 coins, 4 for 2500 coins, 3 for 250 coins and 25 coins for just 2.
Surprisingly, Santa is not the regular symbol with the biggest prize. This accolade goes to the Penguin and reindeer, each of which will get you 750 for 5 and pay-outs from 2+ on the reels. Santa and the gingerbread man are worth 400 for 5 while the playing card symbols make up the smaller wins (though these are up to 125 coins for 5, so still worth hitting).
The bonus symbol (the stocking will gifts) is also the scatter – this means it pays out wherever it hits on the reels and is not tied to specific win lines. If you hit 5 stockings at once, you are paid 500x your total bet, 4 gets you 20x that bet and you’ll get 5x the bet for just 3. In addition 3+ will trigger the bonus game.
Jingle Bells Ride Bonus Game
This could not be a more straightforward bonus game. You are faced with a choice of 5 colourful fireworks, and simply have to select one. This then takes off out of the top of the screen, only to appear over the hill and reveal your winning amount as it explodes. You then click ‘ok’ on a pop up showing your win and go back to the main reels.
Jingle Bells Ride – Conclusion
If you like Christmas themed slots, then this one has a lot of positives. If you feel anything like I do, then it would be impossible to convince you to play even with a bonus every time! The chance of a big win could really brighten up your festive season, and 9000 coins on any spin is possible. The bonus game is not the most intensive, though it did provide a break from the regular game now and again.
