Mad Cubes 25 Slot
Mad Cubes 25 is a quirky, dice-themed slot game with a Chinese flavour. This slot machine from Zeus Play combines colourful dice with electronic cartoon-style music to create a simple and attractive game.
There are 4 reels, which is quite a rarity in the slots world, which normally favours 5, along with 25 fixed paylines, multiplier awards and a gamble feature. Players can roll the dice to try and cover the whole screen with the same colour to win the top payout of 50,000 credits.
Colourful Beginnings
As soon as you load up the game, you can see the dice theme, along with the mysterious symbols and bright colours. The music plays on every spin and the bright melody reminds us of a children’s cartoon or computer game. The outside of the screen is a multi-coloured haze of orange, yellow, green, blue and purple with faded dice images and sparkling stars.
The 4 reels are immediately intriguing as most slot machines have 5, while the symbols themselves include the regular dice all with different totals showing on the displayed face, along with one gold die with Chinese lettering and one white die with a black cross.
There are 25 fixed paylines, which means the maximum number of paylines are in play for every spin, giving the highest number of winning chances each time. You can alter your bet per spin by changing your line bet from 1 to 10 coins, giving an overall total bet of 25 credits up to 250 credits per spin.
Other options for personalising and improving your gameplay include an autoplay button, which can be selected to start infinite automatic spins. The autoplay mode can be stopped at any time by clicking the autoplay button again. There is also an info button which opens up the paytable and shows a map of the paylines.
Double or Quits
Finally, the gamble button in the corner of the screen allows access to a special card game after every winning spin. You can play this ‘double or quits’ card game for the chance to give your payout a 2x multiplier – or leave with nothing. This extra game is entirely optional and the choice is yours after every spin. To gamble, simply guess which card colour will be next out of red and black – a correct guess doubles your winnings. You can guess 5 times in total during each gamble game, but if you ever choose wrongly the game ends and you lose your winnings from that spin.
Roll Towards the 50,000-Coin Jackpot
Mad Cubes 25 has some good payouts if you roll the right combinations of coloured dice. The biggest reward in the game is 50,000 credits, which is awarded for covering the entire screen in green, orange, red or purple dice while playing the maximum bet. If you manage to cover the whole screen with one type of dice, including any of the other colours, you get a 2x multiplier added to your payout.
The next symbol to watch out for is the gold dice with Chinese lettering. If you roll 4 of these dice you receive up to 40,000 credits when playing max bet. The gold Chinese die fits in well with the theme of Mad Cubes 25, as the Chinese culture enjoys dice games with sic bo being a favourite at the casino.
Other dice in the game include the yellow number 6 dice, which pays 15,000 credits for 4 symbols at max bet, and the blue number 5 dice which pays 10,000 credits for 4 symbols at max bet. The lower paying dice are the red, purple, green and orange dice, which all pay 1,000 credits for 4 symbols at max bet, and the white die with a black cross which pays 500 credits for 4 symbols at max bet.
A Simple Dice Game Without Staying Power
Mad Cubes 25 has a bright and colourful appearance along with some sprightly music to give the game a carefree feel. However, there is so little happening in this slot machine that not even the mysterious Chinese lettering on the gold dice made us want to stick around for long.
The game features 25 fixed paylines, a 2x multiplier and a decent jackpot award, but the lack of bonus game, wild symbols and free spins means there is not much to do here. You need to cover the entire screen with the same dice symbol to hit the jackpot, which we failed to do during our gaming session, but we did receive some decent payouts and enjoyed the animations on the Chinese dice wins.
Overall though, Mad Cubes 25 needs to get a lot madder to make us want to roll again.
