Space Adventures Slots
Space Adventures is an intergalactic adventure from Tom Horn Gaming that transports players into outer space with a 3-reel, 5-payline game that is sure to be an out of this world experience for players of all skill levels and experience.
Spacey Symbols
The symbols featured in Space Adventures are a green extra-terrestrial, three different coloured bars and a cluster of crystals that serve as a wild symbol. The symbols really leave a lot to be desired from a gaming experience and theme perspective. The symbols used, other than the alien and crystal cluster, really do not fit in with the Space Adventure theme, and some more spaced theme symbols would have likely added to the overall playing experience. There are several options that could have been used such as different alien species, planets, stars, or even spaceships. C’mon Tom Horn Gaming… it’s not rocket science!
The crystal cluster serves as the resident wild symbol for Space Adventures. Anytime the crystal symbol is spun onto an active pay line it transforms into other symbols to make a winning combination. Spinning a crystal cluster onto a pay line can turn a mediocre win into a win that is out of this world.
In-Game Navigation
With only 6 symbols and winning combinations to learn, players will catch on very quickly to the game play of Space Adventures. The game is also low variancelow variance, meaning players can enjoy a 97% return to player rate, meaning they will spin more winning combinations than losing ones. This is very apt for beginning players who may get discouraged by having several losses in a row.
Embedded Pay Table
Space Adventures has a very smart layout with the pay table embedded into the background of the game. This actually adds to the ease of playability, as players do not have to click a different button and be taken to a popup screen to view the pay table.
The graphic design is spot on and the colour screen is vibrant with an alien and crystal cluster that looks like they were airbrushed into the background. The one downside to the design as previously discussed, is the lack of creativity in the design of the symbols as different variants of coloured bars and red sevens really do not match the space theme.
The nice layout also lends itself to the ease of game play as previously discussed. Players will have no trouble navigating and learning to use Space Adventures. The pay table is also well designed and has a nice layout that new players will be able to easily understand upon first glance.
No Bonus
Space Adventures is a very fun game from Tom Horn Gaming but misses the mark in a few areas that could take player experience to, pardon the pun, out of this world. The odd symbol choices of bars and red sevens take away from the theme and could have been more suited with things such as different species of alien or even different planet symbols.
A bonus game feature would have also been nice such as used in other Tom Horn Gaming classic three reel games such as Soccer Championship. The majority of players look for special features such as bonus games when deciding on what slot to play.
However, with that said, Space Adventures also has some positive points. The betting structure is also higher than other Tom Horn Gaming games, which is always good to know. Higher betting structures attract seasoned video slot players - and anything that could reach a broader audience of players is always a good idea.
Overall, most players will get enjoyment out of playing Space Adventures, as most of the downside (with the exception of the lack of a bonus game) are cosmetic in nature. This is definitely one of those situations where the good outweighs the bad and the biggest deciding factor will be if players enjoy the theme or not. Most will be able to look past the poor choice of symbols and maybe even the lack of bonus game in order to enjoy this slot regardless!
