Birds on a Wire Slots
The opening sequence to this slot sees a variety of different birds swooping through the air, whilst the rules of the game are explained on the screen. Eventually the birds come to rest on three separate wires from an electricity pylon. At this point the scene is somewhat serene – however what happens next is simply shocking, literally! Hitting spin sees the screen scroll to the left and you’re left with three empty wires, which are quickly converged upon by 15 different birds – however, any birds that form a win line are suddenly frazzled and are birds no more!
This is certainly a fun looking slot. All of the birds featured look somewhat wide eyed and not particularly intelligent (let’s face it; these birds aren’t, as despite seeing their friends fried on a regular basis they keep coming back!). There is a mix of different birds, including hens, parrots, roosters and one particular bird that lives in a cardboard box. It’s not the strongest slot graphically, but the character of the slot makes up for this, even the ‘frying’ of the birds being somewhat funny, as you’ll see the outline of their skeleton framed against a black background, much as you would if watching a cartoon. The accompanying sound is a little ‘easy listening’ but the exclamations of the birds when the volts hit them adds to the humour of the slot.
This slot features a free spins round activated by the bonus symbol and an original dropping symbols idea, where you can gain multiple wins.
Set up and Play for Bird on a Wire Slot
This slot by Thunderkick, although not having the actual reels in place, acts in exactly the same way as any standard 5 reel slot, where you’ll need to land consecutive symbols in a row from left to right on a win line to gain a win. However there is a key difference at this one. Having landed a win, these birds will now be ‘fried’ and disappear – which leaves a space. This space is now filled by the birds on the wires above falling into these slots, the empty slots on the top wire being filled by new birds. This will possibly create extra wins and each time you gain an additional win, you’ll receive a higher multiplier. The first win is a standard one, but further wins are given a 2x, 3x and 5x multipliers in turn.
This slot has an unusual 17 win lines, all of which are in play, as you’ll not have the option of lowering this amount, but you’ll actually pay a total stake for a spin, as opposed to a stake per line. The hen is the top paying symbol in the game, winning you 12x your total stake if landing 5 in a row. The pink owl comes next at 8x, with the parrot paying out 6x. The rest of the standard symbols are a mixture of different coloured birds.
The large black rooster is the wild symbol at the slot and will substitute for any other symbol to give you additional wins.
Bird on a Wire Slot – Free Spins round
You’ll start with 10 free spins, however every time the bonus symbol lands anywhere on the wires you’ll gain an additional 2 spins – you can in fact earn as many as 34 spins in this round if the bonus symbol keeps appearing. As an added bonus, at the end of the round you’ll gain an ‘Inwinity Spin’, where the round will continue until you gain a win. This can all make for a highly profitable free spins round, especially as the dropping symbols continue during the free spins.
Bird on a Wire Slot Conclusion
This slot by Thunderkick is certainly one that is hard to forget. The sight of the birds being electrocuted shouldn’t be funny, but it is (these are cartoon birds and not real ones!) and it makes for a very entertaining slot. Add in the excellent free spins feature and the dropping symbols and you’ve got a slot with a lot of originality too. This is certainly a slot that I’ll be returning to on a regular basis and I can recommend it to anyone who enjoys a fun game.
