Nascash Online Slot Machine Review
This Saucify title is based on NASCAR racing, and is a real step up in terms of graphics and design compared to some of their earlier titles. The theme is loud and in your face, trying to recreate the macho atmosphere of races. There is a free spins feature round, and some standard in-reel features including wilds and scatters. The usual options to choose coins as well as lines and coin value give a wide range of spins. If you enjoy watching cars go round and round in circles all afternoon, then this could be just the right slot for you.
Nascash has a nice use of transparent reels, the curve of a NASCAR circuit and stadium can be seen behind the symbols. Those symbols mix the day out at the race with the cars themselves. You’ll find a hot dog and drink, cap, trophy, oil and tires among the winning symbols – as well as some of the cars. The driver is the wild symbol and looks like a games console avatar. When he is involved in a win he will come to life with 3D animation. In the background a rock track plays. I’m pretty sure that using rock and guitar solo type tunes for this kind of slot is an unwritten rule among slot developers! The combination works, with the solos for wins a nice touch.
You will only find a single feature round for this game – though at least there are 3 variations of the graphics for these. This is a free spins game, and is triggered by hitting 3 or more of the front-view car.
Setup and Play for Nascash
You can select from up to 20 win lines for this game, and configure the cost of each spin using coin value and number of coins. The smallest spin for all the lines is 20c. If you go for 10c coins, 10 per line and all lines you can spin for $20 a go instead. Auto play can be used, though as with all Saucify slots; the speed at which the game cycles through winning lines does make this a feel a little slow.
In an unexpected turn around for a macho slot like this one – the biggest prize comes from the female reporter symbol. 5 of these will land you a generous 10,000 coins, with 4 being worth 1000. Next comes the silver trophy, which is worth 8000 for 5, followed by the side-view of the card at 2500. There is then a sharp drop to the minor symbols, headed by the chequered flags (500), helmet (400) and tires (300). I’m happy to report no playing cards are used for this game – the minor wins are all NASCAR related symbols instead.
The driver is wild in this game, this substitutes for all the regular symbols – though not the free spins scatter. 5 of these would count as the biggest regular prize, worth 10,000 coins. The scatter is the front view of the car. There are no prizes attached, though you can win free spins with a multiplier depending on how many you get.
Nascash Free Spins Bonus
There are 3 variations of the free spins, which have different numbers of spins and different multipliers. 5 scatters gets you the top prize, which is 15 ‘nightride’ free spins. These come with a 2x multiplier. 4 scatters wins the ‘overdrive’ free spins (6 with a 4x multiplier) and 3 scatters the ‘Slingshot’ free spins, 3 with a 3x multiplier. The same game is used for all of them, with variations in the graphics an attempt to keep things a little fresh. You can retrigger the spins while playing, giving you the potential to extend the bonus.
Nascash – Conclusion
This is a nicely put together slot which showed a lot of potential. For me this game is let down by the lack of anything interesting going on. Free spins are a basic these days, and will hardly get the average slot player engaged. The lack of anything else at all – not even a basic in-reel addition – feels like a big miss for me.
On the positive side, the graphics and setup are very good. The music even works (even though it is a clichéd metal track). Some effort has obviously gone into the animations too, with the driver avatar the stand out here.
If you enjoy both slots and NASCAR, then you should certainly check this one out. Whether this is good enough to hold your attention for more than a few sessions, I’m really not so sure.
