Minted Sevens Online Slot Machine Review
I’m sure a lot of us can relate to this theme – a bunch of monkeys running a business. Jibes about your bosses aside, this is an entertaining game, with enough humour to keep you playing while you wait for the big wins to come in. There is a Gorilla stockbroker wild, a pick-em game in which you get to fire a monkey apprentice style, and a free spins bonus game.
The graphics are unashamedly money themed, with bananas and many different monkeys in business settings. I like the way the Gorilla gets freaked out when his mobile phone rings (this is frequent, since this is also the wild symbol). There is a smaller grey monkey at a desk, which tries to eat his work when involved in a win line – and a Baboon doctor too. There is plodding, bass heavy tune which adds to the daftness of this slot. Like many Saucify titles, the win line noises can sometimes be jarring. I would also like to see this software house speed up the cycle through winning lines, which slows down the auto play feature a lot.
I’m always happy to see extra bonus games in addition the free spins you’ll find on all Saucify titles. The pick-em game is triggered by the ‘peanuts’ pay packet and is short but entertaining.
Setup and Play for Monkey Business
There are 5 reels, 3 rows of symbols and a total of 20 win lines in this slot. You can choose your lines, the coin size and also play with up to 10 coins per line. This gives a minimum spin cost of 20c (for all lines) with a maximum of $50 for the high rollers. Auto spin lets you enjoy anything up to 100 spins without needing to keep clicking.
As you might expect, the business monkeys are the best paying symbols for this game. The one in the hard hat (the same one which eats his work) has the biggest prize attached, with 5000 coins for 5 on a line. Next comes the Baboon doctor, which is worth 1500 for 5. The one in a tie (1000), cook (750) and banana seller (500) make up the rest. The tools, including a calculator in a vine, and bananas make up the smaller wins. Playing card symbols are not used in this game.
You’ll find 3 special symbols, which are a wild, a bonus symbol and the free spins scatter.
The gorilla stockbroker is the wild and will substitute for any of the regular symbols – though not the special ones. Peanuts in a pay packet trigger the bonus game where you fire a monkey. The joke here is the old saying ‘if you pay peanuts, you get monkeys’. The dapper city chimp is the scatter. This triggers free spins by appearing anywhere on the reels. If you get 3 you win 10 spins, with 15 for 4 and 20 for 5.
Monkey Business Bonus Features
Unusually, the free spins game does not come with a multiplier for this Saucify title. There is nothing different on the reels themselves for this feature. You will see a countdown of the spins remaining and your total prize at the top of the reels. You can retrigger this game in play by hitting 3+ more of the city chimps.
The pick-em game loads separately, meaning you’ll spend a few seconds looking at a grey box and maybe wondering whether the slot has crashed. When the game is loaded you’ll see 3 very sheepish looking monkeys in a row – as if they were sat in the boss’s office. When you hover the mouse on them a giant finger appears to point at each in turn. Your only task is to pick a monkey. You’ll be awarded the number of credits shown, and the prizes behind the remaining monkeys will be shown. You then go back to the main game once again – via a short stop at that grey ‘loading’ box.
Monkey Business – Conclusion
There is no doubt this is an entertaining slot, and one which is worth a couple of sessions on. I am wondering how long it will last when the novelty of the monkeys has started to wear off. There are two bonus games, though the pick-em only really involves a single click of the mouse from the player. The lack of multipliers in the free spins also takes away that opportunity for extra-large wins which many other Saucify slots have.
I liked this game, the peanuts and monkeys joke especially. This game comes recommended for at least a try, check out the entertaining ‘Monkey Business’ for yourself soon.
