Stuck in First Gear
When it comes to its theme, Midnight Racer is a blend of the average and the awful, as while the game might be new, the visuals here are pretty dated. The game is based around what looks to be a knock off version of the Fast and Furious movies, with it looking pretty tacky at that. The images of the early Fast and Furious haven’t aged well, so we can’t imagine why any developer would think they would fit into a slot game in 2017.
In a positive, the game does have some crystal clear production values (along with some advanced animations), so while the theme and graphics used are outdated, they at least look crisp on screen.
In a twist from the norm, it’s actually the low-value symbols in this game that actually look the best. The usual card suites have been given a fresh neon look, which makes them the shining light in this game. What’s disappointing is that the high value symbols here, the “characters” in Midnight Racer included, look as drab as can be.
Drifting round the Corners
Midnight Racer looks pretty uninspiring, but this real money slots release does have a few gameplay quirks that make it worth trying. First, across the 5 reels and 3 rows, players can easily make use of up to 30 paylines. With that in mind, the minimum wager in Midnight Racer is 0.30, so it’s at least budget friendly. The max is 37.50.
Through this you can probably guess that the jackpots here are hardly scintillating, as the biggest base game jackpot is 7,000 coins, which is pretty middle of the road by our standards.
Nothing under the Hood
If you loaded up Midnight Racer expecting to experience a bevvy of bonus features, sadly we feel that you’re going to be left feeling disappointed. This game just doesn’t have much muscle in this department, as Midnight Racer just doesn’t get out of the starting blocks. Yes, you do have wilds and free spins to grab here (up to 20 in fact), but in our eyes it just isn’t enough.
Saucify clearly have the financial clout to create game after game, but they should show a little more focus and realise that players are clambering for bonus rounds.
Slamming on the Breaks
One thing that Saucify tends to do is standardise the controls within all of its games. This has its own positives and drawbacks, especially in the case of Midnight Racer. The steel looking buttons make an appearance here and to an extent tie in with the theme, but as per usual they are poorly designed and make the game a little cumbersome to navigate. Any game that makes you jump between screens in order to place a wager raises concern with us, and that certainly is the case here.
Midnight Racer Comes to a Screeching Halt!
Midnight Racer is racing into the online casinos of the world, if you pardon the pun, but it does very little to get slots fans out of their seats.
