Double Your Dough Slot
If you’re an ambitious gamer, you want to more than double your dough – you want to multiply your original stake by 100, 200, 500… Still, Double Your Dough is a mandate few gamblers can argue with. Developed by betting specialist Realistic Games in 2010, Double Your Dough is a 5-reeler available on PCs, and mobile casinos. The 20-line slot offers a top prize of 500x your stake-per-line, and includes wild symbols and free spins bonuses.
Though its title gives nothing away, Double Your Dough has a marine theme, with both seahorses and sharks taking up residence on the reels. The game utilises Spin-and-Stop technology to put more power in players’ hands, and is founded on age-old slot principles. All wins, for instance, pay left to right on active reels, and only the highest pay-out per line is awarded. Win line pay-outs, meanwhile, are multiplied by the player’s stake-per-line. Refreshingly, gamers can view an accurate return for their current bet by simply clicking on symbols when the reels are stationary. The overall expected return is 95.11%.
Five Reels and Coral Reef
The lay-out of the game is fairly simple. The 5x3 grid is hemmed in by clusters of luminous coral reef. The grid itself is bordered in purple and has all the usual controls you could wish for, with tabs for Paid, Win and Bet.
The Double Your Dough slot has the appearance of a physical slot machine in a casino hall, giving gamers an enhanced experience which can be further augmented by clicking on the Real 2 Reel button. This will zoom out the image to give you an enhanced view of the various slot machines that surround your slot on the casino floor. Use the old-fashioned casino machine housing to regulate your stake-per-line, number of autoplay spins and lines in play. You can opt to play on any number of paylines between one and 20. The stake-per-line, meanwhile, stretches from 0.10 to 2.00.
Fishy Business
Most symbols in Double Your Dough conform strictly to the underwater theme. Thus, you’ll find a fish, a crab, a seahorse and a shark. There are also low-value playing card symbols, from 10 to A.
The snarling shark symbol is wild, and can substitute for the crab, the fish, the seahorse and the playing cards. The shark is also linked with some fantastic pay values, including 700 for three, 5,000 for four and 10,000 for five.
Other well-paying symbols include the purple fish, which pays 800 for five, 160 for four and 80 for three. Then it’s the crab (600/120/60), followed by the seahorse (400/80/40) and then the lower-value playing card icons.
Scatters and Multipliers
The scatter symbol is the gold coin stamped with the image of a puffin. This symbol is linked to pay-outs that are paid as multiples of your total bet (lines in play x stake-per-line). Land three to win 1x bet, four for 10x bet and all five for 125x bet. Scatters can appear in any position on the reels, regardless of the number of lines in play. Only the highest scatter award is paid, and is in addition to any regular win line pay-outs.
Three or more scatters also entitles players to ten free spins, during which all wins – including the initial scatter award – are added to the total win display. If the Double Your Dough game logo appears in any position on the middle reel, your total win amount will be doubted.
The maximum pay-out during the free spins round is set at 10,000 x the stake-per-line. Any pay-outs that exceed this value, or indeed unused free spins, are forfeited. Still, I doubt you’ll be complaining if you’ve just hit, say, 20,000 credits.
It’s worth noting, incidentally, that the free spins bonus round cannot be re-triggered: any scatter wins achieved during free spins will award only the pay-out values outlined above.
Dare you attempt to double your dough?
Double Your Dough is an appealing slot game for a number of reasons. There’s the graphics, first of all, which are pretty cute, but the gameplay is the real jewel in the crown: it’s excellent. The wild shark icons pay fabulously well, and the scatter awards multiplier pay-outs as well as free spins. Factor in the Double Your Dough multiplier during the bonus round and there can be no doubt: Double Your Dough is a triumph.
