NuWorks Gaming Software are purveyors of slots of all kinds. From adventure to folklore and from television to food, the firm are never short of ideas when it comes to developing new games.
The origins of the company can be traced back to Hastings International B.V. They’re the ones pulling the strings in the background, not only of NuWorks but also of Real Time Gaming, another offshoot. NuWorks were launched in 2011 and in the years since have quietly gone about perfecting their slots game. While not a major player in the online casino world, NuWorks’ games are capable efforts and they’re likely to become available at a good many more casinos in the coming years.
The firm’s games debuted at Buzzluck Casino, before being rolled out to Lucky Club Slots, Slot Madness Casino and Begado Casino. There is a number of reasons why NuWorks’ games have performed solidly so far and why the company’s stock is likely to rise so to speak. The software they’ve released to date is diverse for one thing, with regular video slots complemented by a number of progressive jackpot games. Moreover, the platform they’re built on is secure and stable, which are attributes all casinos look for when seeking a new gaming developer to partner with.

Upon launching over 5 years ago, NuWorks released 24 games, such as the Catmandu slot machine, and Wild in Rio slots which formed the base from which it was able to start making inroads into the online casino trade. This stable of games included a number of progressive jackpot games with top pots worth over $75,000. Since then, NuWorks have released another 6 or 7 games and moved into video poker, a natural progression for software developers who start with slots. Today, the firm’s table games include Blackjack, Let ‘Em Ride, Baccarat and various video poker titles.
From a playing perspective, NuWorks’ games are attractive because of the bonuses and loyalty schemes that are built in. Casinos that use NuWorks software can offer their customers generous welcome bonuses, no-deposit bonuses, reload bonuses and other promotions, with NuWorks’ software taking care of the administration side of it all. As a testament to the stability and reliability of NuWorks’ software, it should be noted that the company is a member of iGGBA and IGC, ensuring that it accords to the highest standards set out by the gaming industry. Its software is also independently tested for fairness by industry experts Technical Game Testing. Finally, the company has been certified by VeriSign, confirming that its products, including payment processing, are as safe and secure as possible.
The progressive games seem a good place to start with NuWorks. They provide the clearest indication of where the company’s at and what it’s capable of. One of the features that the company has successfully built into a number of its progressive slots is a jackpot pyramid.
This surfaces in 3 of its progressive games – The Duck Ages, African Skies and Greek Goddess. The random game is activated following a sequence of spins and requires players to place a jackpot bet. This calls for some difficult decision making. The more cash you lay down, the better your chance of launching the jackpot pyramid as the game progresses. Once the mini game launches, players must make their way through the structure from bottom to top. Make it right to the top and you’ll walk away with the jackpot prize of $75,000.
African Skies is a good example of NuWorks’ progressive slots. The 5-reel game has 25 lines, with betting ranging from 0.01 to 1.0. This works out at a top bet of 25 with all paylines active. Set in the African savannah, this animal themed online slot is rich with big game including a lion, African sunset, giraffe, native and elephant. There’s more than one progressive jackpot to win playing African Skies – in fact there are 5.
The slot features a free games feature that’s triggered by landing 3 or more scatter sunset symbols in view. 15 free spins can be won here and the feature can even be retriggered. NuWorks have gone to great pains to keep their slots interesting to play, and have built in a range of fun and lucrative bonus games. Land 3 of the lion symbols (or more!) on screen to activate the lion free games feature, which promises up to 10 free spins. There’s also a win-win feature that kicks in when the free games feature ends, giving players the chance to win 20 x or even 1,000x their stake.
NuWorks have delved into the saturated realm of Greek mythology with Greek Goddess, another progressive game with 25 lines and 5 reels. This one follows a similar format to African Skies, with 5 jackpots up for grabs and a similar number of beguiling symbols to collect. In this case, Athena serves as the wild symbol, who appears on the first and fifth reels, and can substitute for any of the other symbols. When two Athenas appear, the win is tripled. There’s also a golden apple which takes the role of the scatter symbol. Land 3 or more to secure free spins; if Athena appears at this juncture she’ll operate as a scatter symbol and all wins awarded while free spins are activated will be doubled.
In Monster Millions, NuWorks have devised another 25-line progressive jackpot game, but this time they’ve incorporated some deft touches including a pleasing take on the usual playing card symbols, which in this instance are cleverly rendered as monsters. Monster Mania is the feature where there’s real money to be made, which is activated by collecting moon scatter symbols. There’s also a monster bonus feature that requires 3 blue wild symbols and which will pay a multiplier of 500x your triggering bet.
There’s nothing ‘regular’ about NuWorks’ regular slots insofar as these games are every bit as inventive and action-packed as the progressive titles. For originality, Red Raiding Hood takes some beating. The game sees Little Red Riding Hood reinvented as a hoodlum who steals from everyone she encounters. Judo Ferret deserves an award for Weirdest Named Slot. In addition to a ferret, the Asian-tinged game features a squirrel and chipmunk. Eye of Ra is another Egyptian themed slot with five tumbling reels, 50 paylines, and a Horus symbol that serves as wild. Then there’s Camper’s Cash, an oddball but endearing game that’s packed with all the staples that are synonymous with camping in the great American outdoors: tent, grizzly bear, fire, canoe, sleeping bag, binoculars, map, compass and cooler.
NuWorks have done well to release so many mobile slots in such a short period of time and to cram so many features into each one. The software company deserves plaudits for trying to make its progressive jackpot games in particular as fun as possible, and to deliver more than merely interminable reel spins. There are software houses producing nicer looking slots and there are certainly firms with a larger market share, but in the short time they’ve been around for, NuWorks can be proud of what they’ve achieved. They may not yet compare to Ainsworth slots, or Lightning Box Games slots, but what they’ve produced to date is pretty good and it seems fair to conclude that the best is yet to come.
