In order to find out more about this original approach to slot gaming, stick around and read our full review of Roll the Dice, which contains plenty of information but sadly no game cheats.
A User-Friendly Interface
As we have mentioned before, Roll the Dice is one of those game that like to cut to the chase and go straight to what we are all here for: gambling.
As such, the game focuses on a simple dice game and does not have any particular universe to build an atmosphere on unlike NeoGames Astrodice slot. You will be sitting in front of a virtual machine with the paytable on permanent display on the left-hand side, five reels right in front of your eyes and the command buttons at the bottom.
No musical atmosphere either, only simple sound effects reminiscent of actual dice rolls; here the reels do not actually spin, but the dice on them appear to be rolling from above and pile up on top of one another. These simple elements are quite efficient at setting Roll the Dice apart from the more modern games you might be used to playing nowadays and at creating a unique, vintage atmosphere.
A Brief Overview of the Rules
Getting to play Roll the Dice is an easy task. The developers made your life ease by rethinking the gameplay entirely in order to make it as direct and simple than its graphics.
First of all, you will have five reels to bet on. No paylines here, as each reel acts as an independent unit where winning combinations can appear; in other words, combinations of dice piling up vertically on a specific reel trigger cash rewards. As a result, you can choose to bet on just one, two, three, four or on all five reels at one. Use the switches at the bottom of each reel to activate or deactivate it. The (+) and (-) switches at the bottom right-hand corner of the game screen are there to let you adjust the amount of your wager. Use the Max Bet button to select all five reels at once, and the Play button to start the game once you are ready to go.
Now that you know how to play, it is time for you to get a little more familiar with the rules of Roll the Dice, it is time to take a closer look at the shapes and colours the dice can take on the reels…
Piles of Dice
There are 11 different kinds of dice in the game, all triggering different rewards. Remember that in order to win you need three dice of the same kind to fill up a reel you are betting on. Your bet will then be multiplied by the corresponding multiplier, as shown in the paytable on the left side of the game screen.
The six first dice show a different side each and are respectively corloured in Orange, Purple, Green, Red, Blue and Yellow. To make things even easier, an Orange One dice multiplies you bet by one, a Purple Two by two, and so on.
The next dice bear symbols inspired by the game of Mah-jong. The will multiply your bet by 10, 50, 100, 1000 and up to a whopping 10,000!
Bonus Dice
There is indeed a 12th and last dice in the game that deserves a little extra attention: the multi-coloured Bonus dice.
With a pile of three Bonus dice on an activated reel, the Bonus game will start. There, you spin a wheel that will decide on a random extra cash prize for you to pocket. You will have five chances to spin the wheel and perhaps walk away with an extra jackpot so stat alert!
Roll Up, Roll Up
Roll the Dice is a simple yet exciting game to play, with plenty of possibilities to win big and to trigger the Bonus game. The old-school graphics might be a turn-off for some players, but those who look past them will have a chance to play an original and surprisingly addictive game which you can play as a desktop or Mac slot!
