Cave Raiders Deluxe Slot Machine
The cave diving duo are back and this time they’re exploring more deep dark places to help you locate the 500 credits base bonus. These pair have starred in their own game before, titled Cave Raiders. It was much loved and so Netkan have placed the couple together for some more death defying adventures in the slot machine universe.
Here they’ve had a head start and are already in place, abseiling and hiking their way along to the bottom of this cave, but it won’t be long before we’re dashing down towards them. Whether you choose to play in demo mode or with cash, you’re bound to enjoy the Indian Jones and Lara Croft stylings and pairings of these two.
Now that you’re feet are planted firmly on the ground and you’ve switched on your torch, it’s time to start making your way to the treasure room. Watch out for any traps that may have been left behind, you can never be too careful.
Golden Idol
There are so many riches down here we’re not sure where to get started: do we jump right in and go for the most expensive or do we take out time and savour every gold coin we find? There’s just too much choice!
Out of all the 14 icons, the card suits and values are the ones with the smallest payout amounts, with the 10 tile being the lowest of them all. While at the bottom of the pack, it does have an ace up its sleeve: a minimum of two matches are needed to trigger a win when normally it’s three. What this means we’re not sure, but it’s a positive for all players.
Despite being our couple of the year, the raiders aren’t the highest returning symbols in the game, in fact they only reach the heights of 150 credits per five, while the free spins icon takes it home with 500 coins.
The free spin symbol has two different features - in the first instance the icon will launch the bonus round, gifting you money as it goes. However it also adds a multiplier dependent on how many of them you match, therefore if you get 3 matches you only get x1 multiplier, but with 5 you get a much bigger x10.
As for the skeletal wild, well it simply removes all of the symbols except for the free spins, which makes sense as the free spins are the most rewarding upon the grid. Aside from that there’s nothing else by the way of features, which is a tad disappointing considering this is a follow on from the very popular first game.
Taking Control
Assuming you’re not playing the demo, you need to bet a specific amount to get everything moving; your bet worth can be as small as 0.01. However, you’re applying that value to a certain number of coins, between 1 and 10, and so your stake will grow much larger by the time you’re done.
Nektan have done away with their paylines and have more than 1,000 ways to win instead, which is a lot more giving for you and makes controlling the gameplay a whole lot easier. With nothing to set besides the bet, you can move onto actually playing the game.
Worth the Plunge?
There are some obvious improvements straight off the bat with this title, such as improved fluidity and more immersive graphics. That being said, it doesn’t feel like it’s progressed enough to warrant a second game; it feels like the brand should have waited a bit longer, or pumped up the features to make it a jaw dropping title.
