If you overlook the fact that the Sugar Kisses graphics have been reused, what’s on show here is actually pretty nifty. It’s a really cute idea from a theme perspective, and the game itself is very calming.
There is a loop of sweet, soothing music in the background. The candies are in 3D, look delicious, and are brightly coloured, giving you plenty to look at. It should also be noted that the paytable is also easy to look at and understand. The only issue is the slightly annoying kiss sound or the creepy voice that says “I love you” when you match certain candies, but that is a totally subjective opinion. However, since the smooching happens when you match the striped candies, it happens a lot, so it’s something to be aware of.
Sugary Sweet Mechanics
Sugar Kisses is a very easy title to play, with a conveniently placed and unobtrusive replay button. Simply get four candies together and win – they don’t even have to be in a row, they just need to be touching each other. So you could have three cinnamon hearts on top and three directly below, and that would count for six cinnamon hearts.
The game features a cascading reel, so candies will keep raining down on you until there are no win combinations remaining. The jackpot is measured in cinnamon hearts, so matching those will get you that amount of money closer to the jackpot. However, at one point in the game, it says the jackpot is $100, while at another point says it is it is $50, and we have got to say that is a little bit confusing!
The Taste of Cinnamon
A column on the far left shows where you are at as far as your cinnamon heart winnings progression is concerned. The middle of the screen is full of five reels ready to be spun, and the far right column shows your winning for that spin.
The cascading reel is an incredibly interesting mechanic that can make the game a lot of fun and help you to quickly build up winnings.
