Vampire: The Masquerade Las Vegas Slot Machine
Vampire: The Masquerade Las Vegas is a new online slot from casino developer, Foxium, that taps into players' love for two well-tested themes: role-playing games and vampires. After all, some of the best online slots games around are vampire-related. Admit it: even if you can't stand the Twilight books you've probably had a sniff round Microgaming's 243 ways to win Immortal Romance video slot.
And even if Dungeons & Dragons is something your 12-year-old nephew plays, you have to marvel at some of IGT's top branded D&D games. Slots like Dungeons & Dragons Crystal Caverns offer a tonne of atmosphere and some killer bonus games too.
The Vampire: The Masquerade Las Vegas video slot is based on the World of Darkness roleplaying games that were popular in the 1990s. Although the games stopped being developed in 2005, new anniversary products began to hit the market a few years ago. In The Masquerade, players take on the role of vampires, stalking the hapless tourists of major cities in the hunt for blood.
With online casino newbies, Foxium and game producers White Wolf teaming up to produce this latest slot, does it have teeth? Let's have a closer look.
Sink Your Teeth into Foxium's Browser Game
Vampire: The Masquerade Las Vegas has been produced on Microgaming's own Quickfire platform. That means gamblers can enjoy a devilish spin through a browser without download. The production deal was actually penned in 2016 but it has taken well over a year for the game to make it to market. And with a clever Vegas setting, it has a gambling element too.
The slot is played on a set of 3x5 reels, with paylines running left to right. The graphics are immediately a treat and look like they've been lifted from a graphic novel. And if you've enjoyed the storyline feel of Immortal Romance, you'll like the set-up here. The bonus games follow a tale as the vampire "hero" meets a girl in a bar with only one bloody plan on his mind.
Set Your Coins over 20 Fixed Paylines
There are 20 fixed paylines to play on in Vampire: The Masquerade Las Vegas. The graphics are beautiful to look at (Immortal Romance's artist is a definite inspiration) and all symbols follow a vampire/crime theme. Coins start from just 0.01, but there's a 4.00 max bet to enjoy.
The Vampire and the Prey (a woman in evening gown) are the two main symbols to look out for. Both icons can fill an entire reel and will award all sorts of bonus wins if they do so. Look out for the regular vampiric symbols from the RPG game: Ravnos pays 0.25-5x, Tremere the same, while Nosferatu, Giovanni, and Ventrue pay up to 1.25-25x. The surveillance camera image pays up to 40x, while the newspaper cover pays 50x as a jackpot. A crime scene pays a top 62.5x and the blood bags 75x for 5OAK.
Land 'W' Wilds for Bigger Wins
Look to the left of the reels. You will see a Blood Gauge. This fills up as Vampire icons appear. Similarly, in the right there is a Discipline meter. This fills as more Prey icons appear. The Blood Gauge shows the number of free spins you can win (more of that later) while the Discipline Gauge shows the multiplier.
Look out for the brass 'W' symbol. This acts as the slot's wild symbol and will replace all other icons to fill in the holes in your win lines. The wilds won't substitute for either the Vampire or Prey symbols, though.
Hit Free Spins with Shifting Wilds
If you fill either Gauge, a red or green vial is filled. Whichever one fills first will trigger the free spins bonus game. You will also receive a juicy 10-20x stake win too. Your spins total is determined by the Gauge meter, as well as the multiplier.
Here's where things get interesting. There are three free spins modes to trigger:
Dominate Discipline: If the woman (Prey) lands on the fifth reel it becomes wild. Random reel positions also turn wild.
Fortitude Discipline: 1-6 reel spots turn wild.
Presence Discipline: Shifting wilds appear on the reels (1-4 in total). These stay on screen during the whole bonus feature.
There's one more bonus feature to look out for. The image of the Vampire attacking the Prey is the Pick 'em Bonus icon. Three of these anywhere on Reels 1, 3 and 5 will activate the Pick 'em game. Choose from the cards to work your way through a storyline. As you move up the levels on your journey through Las Vegas, you win more multipliers and bigger wins. It's possible to earn a jackpot worth 50x the total stake.
Take a Bite and Enjoy Vampire Wins
Slots developer, Foxium, have been busy in 2017 with their new Quickfire deal opening up a lot of new productions. The free Vampire: The Masquerade Las Vegas slot is very different to some of the developer's other games like The Lost Riches of Amazon and The Odd Forest. But it still has some innovative and atmospheric bonus features for players. Take a bite out of this gothic masterpiece and see if you win any real cash.
