Wild Fruits Slot
Fruits and Far West rarely mix; at least they did not before Wild Fruits by Endorphina was released. This video slot game is indeed an original blending of the two classic themes of the genre.
Here, you will play the part of the bounty hunter roaming the American Far West in search of the rogue fruits wrecking amok amongst the peaceful communities scattered in the wilderness. That is quite a premise for a slot game, and Wild Fruits as a few arguments to back it up.
Let’s see whether or not it lives up to the players’ high expectations…
Once upon a Time in the West
Wild Fruits is all about cowboys and the American Far West, and therefore it takes place in a saloon, given the surroundings.
The background is rather simple however, as the reels simply appear over a quasi-uniform wooden background. The saloon atmosphere can be mostly inferred from the sound effects and the background music playing while the reels are spinning.
The graphics of Wild Fruits are nothing to shout about in general, except perhaps the fun, burning animations triggered after each win.
Get Ready for the Chase
Moving on to the gameplay itself, Wild Thing offers several options to personalise your experience. First of all, you can modify the coin value by clicking the corresponding icon at the top left-hand corner of the screen. You have a total of five reels and 50 paylines to bet on, which is a lot! Use the side tabs flanking the reels to activate as many of them as you wish. Finally, the up and down arrows at the bottom will let you set the amount of your wager itself, in coins.
Hit the spin button once you are ready, and cross your fingers! Winning combinations pay left to right on an activated payline. Each win can be doubled by clicking the Take Risk button and winning the mini game that follows. Pick up a more valuable card than the one chosen by the computer to win and get another chance at doubling your earnings again, and so on until you either quit or make a mistake, which will make all your newly acquired coins disappear forever.
You can skip this step and keep on betting over and over uninterrupted by using the Auto function. This will keep your bet settings constant, so all you will have to do is sit back and watch the action unfold.
Fruity but Deadly
The paytable of Wild Fruits is full of… fruits, mostly. No surprise there. And there are plenty of them here, all more delicious-looking than the other but do not let that fool you: those are dangerous wanted criminals.
In ascending order of value, you will find the Apple, the Cherries, the Orange, Plum, Lemon and Raspberry. The next four are worth a bit more, and are the Strawberry, the Grapes, the Watermelon and Coconut.
The last basic symbol is a large yellow Seven, five of which on an activated payline awarding 1,000 times your bet!
New Allies to Fight Fruit Criminality
Lastly, there are two more special symbols to look out for in Wild Fruits, that is if you want to make the most of out the game.
The Wild symbol is able to substitute for any basic symbol in order to create or extend winning combinations across the reels. However, keep in mind that the Wild symbol cannot appear on the first reel.
The Sheriff Star is the Scatter symbol in Wild Fruits. This means that it does not care about paylines: the Star appears on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th reels only and can trigger a reward regardless of its position. Three Stars will grant you ten Free Spins, with Wild symbols added to the four last reels to make sure that your experience is as rewarding as it can be. The Free Spins can be retriggered only once, awarding five extra rounds under the same conditions.
Get Your Fruit Quota
Wild Fruits is a fun and original game thanks to its blending of two classic slot game universes. The 50 paylines available create many winning possibilities all over the screen, and the game’s humorous atmosphere makes it quite addictive in the end.
There is no unnecessary gimmicks or extra features in Wild Fruits, only the bare essentials with a few special symbols and a more than decent realisation. It will be up to you to decide whether that is enough to catch your interest.
