The background of the game is bright green with bubble-like darker shapes. Everything is kept symbol and 2D, including the reel symbols. You will not find any fancy details or animations here, only three reels in light yellow frames over a simple, colourful background and that is it. No frills, more actual playing.
The music is upbeat and pleasant, with extra sound effects and simple animations following each winning combination. That’s an honest and basic mix, which is rather efficient and enticing.

The quest for simplicity extends to the gameplay as well, which should enable players to get right into the heart of the action without having to figure our complicate settings.
Following these three simple steps should put you on the right path. First, set up a coin value using the button at the top left-hand corner of the screen – you can choose a value from 0.01 to 5 credits per coin. Second step, activate some paylines with the side tags on each side of the reel. There are only five possible paylines crossing the three reels so the choice is easy. Third and final step, use the up and down arrows at the bottom of the game screen to choose how many coins to bet on each payline. Now that you have set your wager, hit the Spin button and hope for the best! Combinations of identical symbols on an activated payline award a corresponding cash prize.
You may also want to try your luck even further and hit the Take Risk button after a successful spin. Ultra Fresh tries to live up to its advertised freshness, be it through its pop graphics and energetic music or through the new design of the icons. And it is immediately apparent that it is a success in terms of atmosphere. For sure, you probably have already played games with fruits and stars and sevens on the reels, be it online or in a land-based casino. But Ultra Fresh still manages to bring out something new and, well, refreshing to this well-known recipe.
One might still consider that the developers did not go far enough in their process of recreating a classic. For instance, there are still no special symbols or Free Spins and Multipliers in Ultra Fresh, which could have been perhaps a more significant change in this particular genre of online slot games.
Impressive Graphics, but Not Much Originality
The Vikings is a great slot game in terms of graphics and general atmosphere, it is a real pleasure to play and to look at. The rewards are average and the possibility to win Free Spins welcome.
That being said, the absence of any Viking-themed Bonus games, or of a real jackpot, is a bit of a shame for such an ambitious game.
