Inside a World of Stealth and Beauty
The Ninja is based on the adventures of the eponymous ancient Japanese secret agents. As such, you will be transported to Japan during your game, and a single glance at the background is enough to understand that.
Behind the reels, the night has fallen and the full lights up the clear skies. You are at the entrance of a palace, you can see the pagodas and wooden doors in the distance. Further away, tall mountains dominate the scene, as animated clouds of thick smoke roll across the landscape. The Ninja is clearly a lot about immersing players within the game universe, and once again Endorphina did a great job at creating the right atmosphere.
The music and sound effects complement the graphics efficiently, and some extra features are triggered with each win – along with sleep reel animations.
Preparing the Assault
Keeping in mind that we are here to play a slot game, coming prepared to the battlefield is still crucial. The commands you will need are located all around the five reels of the game.
Start by setting your coin value thanks to the Coin icon located at the upper left-hand corner. You can choose between values from 0.01 and 5 credits per coin. Once you are ready, it is time to activate between 1 and 20 paylines by using the side tabs that frame the reels. The amount of your wager can be modified with the up and down arrows at the bottom of the screen. Hit the Spin button once you are all set, and cross your fingers until the reels come to a stop! Combinations of identical symbols on an activated payline pay from left to right and trigger a corresponding cash prize. The higher your wager, the higher the reward of course.
After each win, you can use the Take Risk button to try to beat the computer at a simple card game. Flip over a card of higher value than the once displayed and you will double your earnings! You can play again as many times as you want, but remember that a single mistake will make you lose it all.
Another way to play is to use the Auto switch to bet on several spins in a row with a constant wager. You can stop at any time by using the corresponding button. Players who enjoy betting uninterrupted will love this option.
Weapons at the Ready
A quick look at The Ninja’s paytable is enough to see that our protagonist is absolutely ready for battle.
There are only seven basic symbols here, but all of them are deadly. We start with four different kinds of ninja weapons, colour-coded red, green, blue and yellow for ease of identification in the midst of the action. You will perhaps recognise Nunchakus, Shurikens or “ninja stars”, different sort of Spikes, and so on.
The last three icons are all ninjas: a Yellow, one Blue and the last one Red. The determined look on their faces should be enough to terrorize their enemies!
The Black Ninja
This final symbol is extra special and deserves a moment of your time. First of all, it acts as a Wild card and can therefore replace any of the previously mentioned symbols in order to create winning combinations.
Furthermore, when two or more Black Ninjas appear on the real they are added to the counter located right below the reels. If three of them or more appear, the Free Games are triggered. For each spin, a random number of Wilds will be placed on the reels and the Free Games will continue until the stock accumulated during the normal game runs out.
A Beautiful and Deadly Slot Game
The Ninja has several qualities that can please a vast array of players. It is aesthetically quite beautiful and it takes full advantage of its virtual environment. The rewards are more than honest and there are many ways to win during the game.
The original Free Games and the ninja counter are also a plus, even though it might take some getting used to at first if you have never encountered such a system.
