Thunder Hot Dice Games
Dice-based games are not exactly the most exciting options on the market if you are a new gambler, looking for some action and colourful animations. Thunder Hot from Gaming 1 is a dice slot game that has something entirely different to offer: a true element of strategy, where thinking ahead and thinking about the consequences of your every move is paramount.
Thunder Hot contains 4 different reel sets and offers many possibilities to win at every turn. With a medium variance and an original bonus mode, the game has all it takes to become successful. Players will simply have to look past appearances on this one, and they will be just as surprised as we were when we tested Thunder Hot. Find out why in our complete review here.
Back to the Future
Thunder Hot is a mix of retro style and futuristic landscape, with few background details except a strange landscape with a computer-generated sunrise in the distance. The game screen is still overwhelmingly dark, with the many reel sets, command buttons and other displays sticking out in bright neon lights.
As a result, Thunder Hot is clearly not the most impressive slot game there is in terms of graphics alone. Retro slots can still have a certain charm for old-school players, but we still thought that Thunder Hot was a little too plain overall. Let’s see if the game makes up for that in terms of gameplay now.
Go Where the Big Wins Are
This is where Thunder Hot really shines and differs from the vast majority of modern slot games. You have 4 reel sets to bet on, with a simple 3x3 setup on each. 5 paylines are available per grid, with a betting range going from 0.25 to 20 credits per turn. You will be betting on all sets at once, but instead of random spinning reels you get to preview the next 3 symbols on top of the reels. Click where you want to place them and try to form winning combinations manually.
The usual dice faces make up the vast majority of the symbols of Thunder Hot, followed by a handful of rarer Chinese dice. Each combination awards points, up to 120 at once, which can be converted into credits according to a table that you can adjust as you change your wager. Your best strategy is to try and score several combinations at once, which is only possible if you take your time and choose your next move with care.
Think About Your Next Move
Thunder Hot features a bonus mode called The Next Dimension. You can access it by lining up 3 rare bonus dice during the base game. The reel sets will then disappear to give space for a bonus wheel, which you can spin to win extra cash prizes. Find the Hot Mystery game symbol on the wheel to boost your next prizes and make every spin worth.
Consecutive winning combinations within the same reel set in the base game increase the current win multiplier little by little, making each prize worth a little more. You can even try and fill up an entire set with the same symbol, which is called a 9 Alike in the game. This will also give you access to The Next Dimension bonus wheel.
More Dice to Roll
Thunder Hot shares similar graphics with Fruits Of Neon by Fugaso, another slot game with a Tron-inspired, futuristic look. Apart from that, the two games are quite different in terms of gameplay. Fruits Of Neon has a classic setup with 40 paylines and an impressive free spin bonus to offer, with up to 20 free games available at once.
5 Hot Dice from EGT is another fun and colourful option to consider if you are a fan of dice-based slot games. You will have only one reel set to deal with there, but with a high volatility and equally high stakes. Perfect for experienced gamblers, 5 Hot Dice will prove both challenging and exciting at every spin.
All or Nothing
Thunder Hot has strong arguments in its favour, and also some shortcomings that will work against it. On one hand, we loved the fact that we had to pause and think about out strategy continuously in the game. This might as well be a deal breaker for some gamblers who are looking for a more dynamic game.
In a nutshell, Thunder Hot is certainly going to be a very polarising game. The stakes can be high if you factor in the bonus wheel, but we still found it harder than usual to win big cash prizes here. You can check out Thunder Hot to experience its original gameplay and see if it does the trick for you, but don’t expect the experience to be as thrilling as in other modern slot games.
