Neon Dice Slots
What’s the brightest online game you’ve ever seen? Whatever answer you have, we bet it was relatively childish in terms of the theme? Prepare to experience something new then, with this ravey casino game from ETG.
Fittingly titled Neon Dice, this is all about garishly colored pairs of dice spinning around 5 reels, in a celebration of big impact graphics. The company that made this game are well known for their ultramodern techniques of animation and drawing, and this is certainly no exception. From the moment the screen loads it looks incredible, kind of like the disco equivalent of a gambler, which is always going to be alright with us. That also means it feels like a proper grown up game, not one of those bizarre situations when something you need to be 18 to play opts to theme itself on children’s toys. Overall then, top first impressions.
Preparing for the Party
So on the reels there are different brightly colored pairs of die. Each has a number on them, and these numbers correspond to the value of what you win. Then there are other dice with Chinese writing or 7s and 8s in number form, among other icons.
The idea is to match pairs, threes, fours or fives of these on active pay lines, and then you’ll be guaranteed a win. Actually playing the game couldn’t be any smoother, the animation- or moving parts to make it feel like a physical, rather than online, slot machine- and really that’s all you can ask for.
In the Club
This is where it starts to get interesting, and personal. At the bottom of the screen there are several Bet size buttons. Push the one you want and start the reels going, and the dice rolling. The Bet sizes available are five, 10, 25, 40, and 50.
The larger your Bet size the more you will win if, and when, you actually manage to land a combination. There are only 5 pay lines in play on this game, which is quite limited, but it fits in with the overall stripped back, simple but great approach to online slot machines that Neon Dice seems to really take to its heart. There’s nothing here that doesn’t need to be here, and that’s all the better from where we’re playing.
Trying Your Luck
It’s time to hit spin, then, and that means you’re going to be risking it all- or at least a proportion of your pre-designated kitty – for a chance at fame and fortune (well, OK, maybe not fame exactly, but you can be famous in your own eyes for a second- it’s fine to do that). In order to do this you need to hit spin, and there are two ways of doing this.
Either press one of the Bet sizes in the bottom corner once- also selecting whether you want to use one or two credits at a time in the process. Or, you can click on the icon that looks like arrows going round in a circle/rectangle. This will introduce an auto play function, which is great if you want to quickly place lots of consecutive bets at the same value.
There’s also a Gamble feature. Keep an eye out in the bottom right hand corner of the screen, when the word ‘Gamble’ flashes you can move over to a little sub game, whereby you need to guess the color of the next card to be turned over. Get this right and you can another go, the more you fly through the more winnings you’ll be earning overall, and let’s face it – that’s exactly what you want here.
Neon Fun
Neon Dice probably isn’t our favorite in EGT’s ‘dice’ series, but it’s definitely up there and can hold its own against lots of other developers’ work. It looks great, the animation is really effective, and it makes you want to come back for more.
The Gamble function is probably our favorite thing about this game, simply because it adds a whole other level to the experience and really boosts the amount of time you’re likely to spend on this one. Thematically brilliant, then, but nevertheless simple and very much geared towards the serious gamer, Neon Dice has that sort of combination of plus points that really makes sure it will be a definite contender for your online slot machine bookmark bar.
