Temple Of The Tiger: Tiger Prince Slot Machine
Temple of the Tiger: Tiger Prince entered the slot machine market as one of a dual release from Australian-based developer Aristocrat along with Temple of the Tiger: Tiger Queen. It forms part of the popular Max Stacks portfolio of slots and those of you that have played Aristocrat's first foray into Max Stacks will remember the dual release of Sky Rider: Silver Treasures and Sky Rider: Golden Amulet. It certainly feels the developer has adopted a similar approach with these two slots.
This version of Temple of the Tiger has the same 5-reel, 50-payline set-up as its sibling. This suggests there will be less to call between the two slot machines but it also begs the question why the developer released both of them onto the market.
It is part of the E*Series of slot machines from Aristocrat which has seen a number of well-received titles such as Dream Rose, Sweet Skulls, and Goddess Sisters hit the market. The game is housed in the Viridian WS cabinet and it looks every bit the classy machine you would expect from Aristocrat.
Theme
TOTT: TP has an Amazon jungle theme that will instantly resonate with fans of WMS Gaming's superb Amazon Queen slot machine.
Symbols across the reels throw us a bit. It seemingly can't decide which jungle it wants to be inspired by. Possibly by multiple jungles across the world? There is a snow tiger, a Bengal tiger, an Amazonian temple, an Amazonian artefact, and a medallion with a tiger paw mark engraved into it.
It is the Amazonian temple that acts as the game's Scatter and these are the symbols you want to look out for in order to trigger the free games on this slot. They come in the form of the Max Stacks feature so you would think they would be easy to trigger but they appear a lot less frequently than you might anticipate.
The Wild symbol is represented by the Temple of the Tiger logo. This symbol has the ability to substitute for all other symbols, except the Scatters, the help you complete any potential winning combinations across the reels.
Features
The bonus features are where the two slot releases in the Temple of the Tiger series split off into different directions. Unfortunately, it is where Temple of the Tiger: Tiger Prince falls a bit behind Tiger Queen.
Max Stacks – this is the flagship feature of this slot machine. In essence, it is a very appealing feature. You are basically increasing your chances of hitting winning combinations due to more of the same symbol appearing on the reels on each spin. Sadly, in practice, it does not happen as frequently as it should. It can contribute to some massive wins and when they hit they really do it. Needless to say, the wins are not as common as you would like, so prepare to be disappointed.
Free Games Feature – the key difference between the two slot machines is this feature. In Tiger Queen, players have the chance to pick their own Max Stacks symbol and number of free spins. That is not the case here. You will take what you are given. That is the restriction that makes this game less attractive than its sibling.
Summary
Temple of the Tiger: Tiger Prince simply feels like a watered-down version of Temple of the Tiger: Tiger Queen.
The lack of choice when it comes to the free games is a real turn-off and it has left us wondering just why Aristocrat bothered making this a dual release. It worked for the Sky Rider slots because they were the trailblazers for the Max Stacks features and it was something that needed extra exposure.
Unfortunately, this feels like an old carpet being beaten. Stick to playing Tiger Queen because if you choose to play Tiger Prince instead you will just end up punching your own face in with frustration.
