Siesta y Fiesta Slot
Our Spanish is a little rusty, but Siesta y Fiesta doesn’t seem to read quite right: if siesta means a midday nap and fiesta is a festival, does this make this slot machine a nap festival? Napping is all good in our books, just how can we celebrate it when we’re asleep? It’s a conundrum that makes the mind boggle.
Whether the translation is accurate or not is beside the point when it comes down to the 30 paylines and 5 reels of the game. So much is going on, dancing before your eyes, that you can scarcely concentrate on anything else. This is one of those modern activities that overwhelms the player with a wide array of features, from a glorious design to special bonuses. It’s all very in your face.
Street Party
If you were hoping for a little sleep to wile away the hours, you might want to go elsewhere for the duration of this game, as this party is about to get LOUD. The cobblestone roads are bursting with colours and sounds, rainbow confetti lining every crack in the stonework whilst luminous lights flash above.
There’s hot sauce to be ate, tequila to be drunk, and pinatas to be broken - and that’s just for starters! Siesta y Fiesta will transform your home into party central, with all the quests packed inside the 3x5 network of images.
You’re probably in for a wild night, so just in case you need a power nap along the way, why not pack your sombrero to rest over your face, like the guy laying in the street has done just to the left hand side of the matrix. He’s got the right idea.
Confetti Canon
Players will get showered with confetti when they launch the bonus round, which will happen when over three of the same tiles are discovered, which in this title is the pinata symbol. When we started the round, we anticipated having to hit the candy filled toy with a virtual bat, but in fact we had to be the pinata and try to avoid being hit.
Everything started off nice and easy, but as the level drew to an end the bat became harder to evade. Picture us frantically whizzing about with our mouse in an attempt to win the level, and you might get some brief insight into how desperate we looked. When the round ends you will receive an overall score which in turn gives you a rank, followed by the amount of credits you managed to bag yourself. We walked away with 210 coins, which is a nice sum to add back into our account.
Spice up Your Life
Siesta y Fiesta isn’t finished with all you party animals just yet, for there’s still three more features to be found, and then the normal icons of the paytable; talk about spicy. We find that the mystery tile goes down a treat, mainly because we have no clue what to expect, only that more matches equates to better payouts.
Even if you never see three of a kind upon the reels, you can look forward to activating the free spins, which seem to appear more often than not. Up to 15 extra games can be won, all of which can be retriggered. Oh, and there’s also the multiplier of the scatter symbol that can show up and up the ante once more.
The band of skeletons is the top-paying tile, coming in at 5,000 credits, while the individual performer delivers a cool 2,500 and the tequila a further 1,000. As you can see from our quick look at the highest value symbols, a lot of money is waiting to be won during the game.
The Fun Never Ends
Thanks to the low to medium pay-in of 30 credits, the fun never has to end with Siesta y Fiesta; it may not be the cheapest slot machine out there, but you more than get out what you put in. Not to mention you have an engaging theme to work with, which enhances the title even further. This is a keeper, folks.
The Art of Games has excelled with this slot machine, and we’ll be forever grateful for that fact.
