Legends of Avalon Online Slot Machine Review
This is one of three ‘Legends’ slots in the Saucify range – the others are Legends of Greece and Legends of Olympia. The big difference for this game is that a progressive jackpot is included, making it possible to scoop a 5 or even 6 figure pay-out. King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table are the theme. This slot is based on a standard 5 reel, 3 row and 30 line setup – with a free spins bonus game which includes an extra wild symbol.
Overall the graphics are more detailed than for many Saucify titles, the shading and attention to detail is excellent and the mood of the slot benefits from this. There are minimal animations when the symbols make winning combinations. You will find all of the classic symbols on the reels from the Arthurian legends, including King Arthur himself, a crown, apple and the sword Excalibur. Slightly disappointing to see the playing card symbols used, as there are plenty more ‘mystic’ symbols which could have been used. At least the sounds do add to the overall atmosphere.
Having the extra wild in the bonus game makes for a lot of extra wins. In addition there is that progressive jackpot – which is triggered by lining up 5 of the Avalon symbols during regular play. You can see the current total for this jackpot on top of the reels.
Setup and Play for Legends of Avalon
As with all Saucify slots, you will have 3 things to configure to set your spin amount. This is the number of lines (I recommend all 30; you would not want to see 5 Avalon symbols only to find out that you missed the jackpot!). You also choose the coin amount, and the number of coins per line. The smallest spin for all lines is 30c, with the biggest $37.50 on the version I played. Auto-spin is also available.
The Avalon symbol has the biggest prize, hitting all 5 of these will trigger the progressive jackpot – while just 4 nets you 1000 coins and you get 150 coins for 3 and 10 coins for 2. This symbol is also wild, making up plenty of winning combinations with the regular symbols. Excalibur pays out for just 2 symbols (just 5 coins). 5 Excalibur symbols will get you 1000 coins. King Arthur comes next, worth 800 coins for 5.
Other symbols require 3+ from the left to trigger a win. Larger prizes are 600 coins for 5 of the Pendragon crest, 500 for 5x crowns and 400 for 5x apples – the playing cards make up a lot of smaller wins.
The Lady of the Lake is the last symbol; this is a scatter, paying out for 2+ anywhere on the reels. If you hit 5 of these the prize is 150x your total spin amount, with 60x for 4, 10x for 3 and 2x for just 2. 3+ Ladies will also trigger the free spins bonus game.
Legends of Avalon Bonus Game
You start with 10, 12 or 15 free spins depending on how many Lady of the Lake symbols you land when triggering (3, 4 or 5). The multiplier is also increased depending on how many Ladies trigger, with 2x, 3x and 4x on all wins for 3, 4 and 5. There is nothing particularly unusual behavior-wise in this game – you will find Excalibur symbols are additional wilds in this feature game, which make up more wins (this is the wild symbol). The bonus game can be retriggered by hitting 3+ Lady of the Lake symbols again.
Legends of Avalon – Conclusion
I’m happy to see a Saucify slot with a progressive jackpot, something which would add some extra interest to many other titles. This is a solid enough game, though not the most interesting or atmospheric of the Round-table type games I have come across. The extra wilds in the free spins feature round make a big difference, you will often accumulate a lot of wins when this triggers.
For a solid introduction to Saucify slots, and the chance of a progressive jackpot win – then the Legends of Arthur is certainly worth a spin, check it out for yourself soon.
