Bingo Cove sounds somewhat exotic, somewhat in that the cove part sounds idyllic and exotic, the bingo part not so much. The site’s logo promotes the notion of blissful escapism, featuring a palm tree pushed through the O in Cove and a bar of sand. It’s a veritable desert isle here, albeit with electricity and excellent 4G, enabling you to play all your favourite bingo games despite the exotic location. “Get your shorts, flip-flops and sunglasses on and take a wander down to the warm, sandy beaches at Bingo Cove” urges the homepage of the site, and who could refuse such an inviting offer?
While you won’t get a chance to feel the sand between your toes at Bingo Cove – the theme isn’t that convincing – the uppermost part of the homepage certainly sets the scene nicely. The bottom half not so much, for that’s where things start to go awry. This is a common fate to befall bingo sites, all of which feel obliged to adopt some kind of whacky theme. There’s nothing wrong with that, until you scroll further down the page and discover that all attempts at maintaining the theme have been hastily abandoned. It’s like lifting the paintings off the wall in your living room only to discover that the decorator neglected to wallpaper behind them.
Bingo Cove is a site that’s cove-like above the fold then, generic below the fold. It’s the slots and mini games that partially serve to cheapen the homepage and deviate from the littoral theme. The scrolling yellow sidebar, revealing the latest winners on the site, isn’t great either, distracting from the primary sections. One interesting nugget of information to be gleaned from just below the latest winners sidebar though: on the previous day on the site the total amount that was won in prizes is displayed, a figure that seems to average around £750,000 – though whether that’s just for Bingo Cove or for all of the sites operated by this company is unclear. Probably the latter.
The operator in question is Cassava Enterprises Limited, a Gibraltar-based company who have launched so many bingo sites it’s a miracle the sheer weight of their servers hasn’t caused the famous rock to sink to the bottom of the ocean and never surface again. Cassava Enterprises are licensed by the Gibraltar Gambling Commissioner, while parent company 888 group are licensed, via their British subsidiary 888 UK Ltd, by the Great Britain Gambling Commission. It’s all a bit confusing, but such is life in the complex world of bingo and casino ownership and regulation.
Predictably there’s no deposit information to be found at Bingo Cove. Well done Cassava Enterprises, you’ve done it again. Or rather not done it again. Curiously, they only seem to bother to supply withdrawal information at all their sites. In this case, your withdrawal options comprise credit or debit card such as MasterCard, cheque, Neteller, wire transfer and PayPal. You can probably use the same options to deposit funds save for cheque and bank transfer.
Withdrawal requests take 48 hours to be processed followed by 2-3 days for UK MasterCard and longer for most other options. Transactions will show up on your statement as Cassava Enterprises or Virtual MaSerIRL, a strange name if ever there was one. Still, it’s not immediately synonymous with gambling and that’s got to be a good thing, right?
In terms of promotions, there is a 400% bonus split when you sign up at Bingo Cove. This comprises a 200% bingo bonus and a 200% free spins bonus. Deposit a minimum of £10 and a maximum of £100 to claim this offer. This cash is subject to a 4x wagering requirement before it can be cashed out. Remaining promotions to be found at Bingo Cove are the usual ones that can be found at all Cassava Enterprises sites. Most of these don't look particularly attractive if truth be told, the best probably being the 2 Million Race where there are 40 winners selected at random to share 2 million loyalty points.
Type | Amount | Match | Playthrough | Claim |
---|---|---|---|---|
Welcome Bonus | £200 | 200% | 4x | Claim Bonus |
The page also makes mention of some major jackpot games such as Grab a Grand, held on the 15th of every month, and the Big 10,000 when there is, that's right, £10,000 to be won. There is also a loyalty scheme and seasonal promotions in which the top 10 players on the site will share various bonuses and cashback. That’s about it as far as promotions go.
There are three types of bingo to play at Bingo Cove, 90, 75-ball and High 5 Bingo. There isn't much between these games in terms of how they are played, with the major difference being that in 90-ball bingo there are three opportunities to win. In 75-ball bingo there is just one way to win and in High Five Bingo there five ways because you can complete lines vertically, horizontally and diagonally. The progressive jackpot bingo games have names such as Diamonds Are Forever, House Party and Swedish Jackpot.
The coverall bingo bingo games meanwhile have guaranteed jackpots and operate from 8am till midnight all through the week. The maximum amount you can win from a coverall jackpot is usually £1,000 save for the special one-off games which occasionally include one which has a £1 million top prize.
Bingo Cove also has a selection of slots, the same selection as can be found at all of the other sites operated by Cassava Enterprises. Games include the likes of Temple of Isis and Fluffy Favorites, where there is a progressive jackpot to be won. Other notable titles include Bruce Lee 2, Wizard of Oz, Gonzo's Quest and Cleopatra. Some of these games are pretty good actually, even though they are ubiquitous at hundreds of other bingo sites operated by this company. Games should work on mobile as well as desktop and can be played in demo mode or for real cash.
Bingo Cove is something of a mediocre site. It's okay but it is nothing to write home about, put it that way. The theme isn't implemented particularly well at all for one thing. Still, the yellow colour scheme is cheerful, it's got that in its favour at least ,but the layout of the games, slots especially, just doesn't look good. On the plus side, the welcome bonus is at least more generous than that which can be found at many of the other sites operated by Cassava Enterprises.
Some of the slots pass muster at least, whether you're playing the likes of Roland Rat, Monopoly, X Factor or Shaman’s Dream. Other elements of the site look shoddy though and the whole place doesn't really feel harmonious or well put together. Yes, you can play bingo at Bingo Cove and you could probably have some fun but you could have even more fun at an alternative and better designed site.
