Filthy Rich Slots
Ever dreamed of being filthy rich? Course you have; we all have. Even those who already own the Drophead Rollie and gated mansion dream of being even richer.
We’re not saying you’re going to enter the illustrious Forbes rich list if you hit the jackpot on this non-progressive Filthy Rich mobile slot, but you’re sure as hell going to see your bank balance skyrocket. Filthy Rich is a 5-reel video slot with up to 50 paylines. The slot, a product of the Probability Games suite, boasts a nice 25,000 coin jackpot.
Filthy Rich has a handsome jackpot, but its name is more a reflection of the theme and the nature of the symbols that play across the 5x3 reel grid. Each icon is associated, in one way or another, with the good life – the life of the mega-rich: oligarchs, media barons, the royal family. Filthy Rich is available to play on iPhones or indeed any mobile device or tablet that runs i0S or Android software. Downloadable versions can be found on the respective app stores, and the reputed return-to-player percentage is 94.49%.
Richly Designed
Filthy Rich is a well-designed casino game played out on reels appearing against the backdrop of a verdant park, with small hills rising against the ever-so-blue sky in the background. Actually, is it a park? Perhaps it’s the capacious grounds of your new twelve-bedroom mansion? Anyway, the reel grid appears on the left-hand side and the controls appear on the right, with functions for Spin, Auto Spin and Lines/Stake.
Coin denominations fall between 0.01 and 0.50, and a maximum of one coin can be wagered for each payline. You’ll see your Total Bet and Bank Balance recorded at the top of the screen; there’s also a Menu button, an Information tab and a Mute button.
Rich as Hell
As ever, the goal is to locate matching combinations of three, four or five symbols, on active lines, in order to trigger pay wins. All wins pay left to right except in the case of the scatter. Win amounts, of course, depend on how much you’ve staked. The jackpot of 1,000x the initial bet is, of course, equal to 25,000 if you’re playing at max bet – though 1,000x bet is a pretty sweet win whatever your stake.
Game symbols, meanwhile, include a couple of gold bars, a black top hat, a powerful motorcar, a stylish woman, a fancy pendant, a moustachioed man (the ‘Rich Uncle’), a diamond ring, a chihuahua dog, a medal, a pound sign, a smarmy rich bloke with a big chin and a wad of cash chained together with a gold bracelet. The symbols are quite fun and cartoonish, and each of them sparkles on the reels like diamonds snagged in the turf.
The wild symbol, which can function as a surrogate and replace others in the game, is the moustachioed man with a monocle. As well as its stand-in capabilities, this one is linked with the highest pay-out of all: all you need to do is hit five in a line. The scatter, meanwhile, is the pound sign. Landing three, four or five will reward you with three, six or nine free spins; the free spins bonus can also be re-triggered an infinite number of times.
Each win during free spins comes with a generous 3x multiplier attached. That’s right, all wins are tripled! Scatter wins also generate regular pay-outs, with five in a line yielding a handsome 300x the player’s bet. Bonus spin prizes are added to payline and scatter wins at the conclusion of the free spins round.
At the less lucrative end of the spectrum, the champagne bottle pays 5x for three, 10x for four and 20x for five. Next best is the gold bullion, paying 5x for three, 15x for four and 25x for five. And so on: have a gander at the pay-table before commencing to spin.
Rich Rewards
Filthy Rich is well worth a look. Though the graphics are simple, the gameplay is solid, with a number of well-paying symbols on the board and the option of playing on between one and 50 lines. There’s also a potentially lucrative free spins bonus round, where all wins are tripled – though the allocation of free spins isn’t the most generous we’ve come across.
