Ugga Bugga Slots
Escape to an exotic jungle world of bongo drums, delicious tropical fruits and extravagant tribal artefacts. Ugga Bugga is a 3-reel slot machine by Playtech with a difference. That is because it boasts 10 paylines upon 10 reels which spin independently of each other.
Upon these reels, players can find a vast number of winning combinations thanks to a special hold feature that is offered with every turn. There aren't any other bonus gimmicks to speak of, except for a wild icon that will awards wins of up to 1,000x the value of the bet on the line.
Enter the jungle
“Ugga Bugga” were probably the first words that ever came out of a human mouth (and when we say words, we actually mean a nonsensical noise that has no meaning whatsoever). Those four simple syllables paved the way for a global network of languages and myriad works of literature, allowing humankind to distinguish themselves from the rest of the animal kingdom. On the flip side, it also paved the way for Peter Andre's Autobiography, so it's all swings and roundabouts we suppose.
This slot machine takes players to a simpler world far away from the sphere of pointless celebrities and places them in a thrilling jungle environment to spend some time with a fierce tribe of warriors, musicians, cooks and performers. As you can see on the reels themselves, there are a variety of symbols depicting tribesman wielding spears and shields, bowls of tropical delights, a series of makeshift huts, some bongo drums and a trio of magnificent tribal masks.
The most coveted icon of all, however, is a shining mask symbol that acts as a wild symbol and awards the slot machine's most lucrative line bet multipliers.
Hold it for bigger wins
Before you get stuck into spinning Ugga Bugga, we better give you a low-down of how this 3-reel game works. Because, in truth, it is a little bit different from most 3-reel retro slots and 5-reel video slot out there.
Basically, players have two spins with every turn. The first preliminary spin will take the player's wager and spin only the first reel set out of the 10 reel sets that appear on the game screen. After this prelimiary spin has settled, punters will be given to choice to hold any of the symbols that appear, with held icons replicated across the same reel on all of the 10 independent sets of reels. Alternatively, spinners can opt to not hold any reels at all if they think that they will have a better chance without locking in any of the symbols that appeared on the first spin.
Once players are happy with their holds, they can hit the “Spin” button for a second time to spin all of the non-held reels across all 10 sets, without taking any more stakes from the betting balance since they were wagered on the first spin.
What's at stake?
Players can play with a limited range of wagers, from a single coin worth 0.01 credits to five coins worth 0.01 credits on each line. Considering that the slot machine has 10 fixed paylines, that makes for a minimum possible bet worth 0.10 credits and a maximum total bet of 0.50 credits. So, this isn't exactly one for the high rollers!
Players will find that playing with five coins – or “Bet Max” - is much more beneficial since this will activate the potential for a 1,000x line bet multiplier whenever three match wild masks appear on a payline. With any lower number of coins, players will only be able to win 250x the value of the line bet with the same combination of three matched wild masks. You can see all of the various winning sequences and their respective line bet multiplier prizes in the table below:
Not your average 3-reel classic
Ugga Bugga may appear to be a simple 3-reel slot machine, but it serves up some unique spinning action with a special AWP style hold feature. This allows players to bring in some different betting strategies than they might be used to with normal 3-reel classics and even 5-reel video slots. Although, having said that, the slot machine is somewhat limited in its wagering options and prize paying potential with line bet wins that go no higher than 1,000x.
