Silver Bullet Slots
Silver Bullet is the latest game by slot machine industry giants Playtech. It’s a 5-reel, 9-payline video slot machine, which comes complete with a western theme and is impressively connected to the Dollar Ball progressive jackpot.
The symbols for the game include horses, dollar bills, horseshoes, smoking pipes, carriage wheels, cowboy hats, barbecue sauce bottles, lucky sevens, cannonballs, barrels, six-shooters, and sheriff badges. All of the above may make it sound complex, but don’t be fooled, as this title is just like a classic slot machine from years gone by.
Classic it may be, but as we all know, a slot game needs a little bit more than that to leave a lasting image, so does Silver Bullet have the illusive massive touch? Read the following review to find out!
Coated in silver
Playtech decided to give this game a watercolour style that manages to really fit the theme. The sound effects are fun and sound like something out of the old Road Runner cartoons. If you were to summarise Silver Bullet in a single word is refreshing, as the game really does prove to be a treat for the eyes.
Locked and loaded
The gameplay of Silver Bullet is pretty straightforward. You bet using coins and can use a maximum of one coin per line. You can activate as many lines as you want and bet using coins with values ranging from between $0.01 and $5. So the minimum bet here is $0.01 (or $0.09 cents to activate all in-game paylines) and the maximum bet comes in at a lofty $45. The value of the coins is adjusted using the plus and minus buttons, while you can cycle through the paylines using the “Bet One” button.
You can also press “Bet Max” to just bet on every available payline, before starting the game by pressing the “Spin” button. Overall, Silver Bullet proves to be an extremely easy game to both tweak and control.
Within the crosshairs
There are three main special features in Silver Bullet, that being the wild symbol, the scatter symbol, and the dollar ball. The sheriff badge acts as the wild and is able to stand in for any of the regular symbols to give you a winning combination. The six-shooter provides the scatter bonus; this gives you a cash-extra when you land two and has a potential payout of 100 coins.
Bouncing around the ‘Dollar Balls’
The Dollar Ball is a sidebet that is something only found within Playtech games. If you choose to opt in then you bet an additional $1 per spin. This $1 becomes part of the Dollar Ball pot. You also pick five numbers between 1 and 49. You can change your numbers with each spin or just use the same set each time.
The Dollar Ball system will also pick five random numbers. If you manage to correctly guess all five numbers you win the Dollar Ball jackpot. On the surface, this little side game really may not seem like much. But in reality this is one side game that carries serious potential. The Dollar Ball jackpot often represents life changing sums of cash and is certainly well worth playing for.
Wide of the mark
You’ve undoubtedly noticed that there are no other special features in Silver Bullet, which sadly is a real knock against the game. There is no free spin bonus game, or a pick and win bonus game for that matter, even the classic gamble feature doesn’t make an appearance. It’s pretty difficult to get some extra cash with Silver Bullet. This lack of special features is one of the main reasons that the game has never really caught on and been a major success.
Riding the silver bullet!
All things considered, inspire of lacking in the bonus department Silver Bullet is still a fun little video slot machine. It’s a very easy game to play and it has the simple and straightforward appeal of a regular old school one-armed bandit.
You won’t find yourself playing it for hours, but it is a good way to take a break from the other, more modern slot releases. With Silver Bullet, Playtech as stayed faithful to the slot games of yesteryear that it has tried to emulate, and for the most part they should be commended for that. Any player that is on the look out for a quick bit of slots fancy should certainly give Silver Bullet a try.
