Simplicity and efficiency
Neptune’s Kingdom is not one of those games that lures players in with flashy graphics and outlandish animations. Instead, you will be treated to a true retro slot games.
The background represents just waves extending all to the to the horizon, with the occasional ship sailing across the screen. Besides the game logo and the paytable on display permanently, Neptune’s Kingdom does not provide a lot of graphic details.
The rest of the screen is left free for the reels and the command bar. Add a few sound effects such as the sound of waves crushing on the shores, and you have the sort of perfect, low-key universe that so many players love.
How to get the game started
As you have already guessed, Neptune’s Kingdom follows the traditional, simple rules that usually come with retro slot games.
The game matrix is small, with only three spinning reels and five paylines available. Your goal is of course to try your best to line up combinations of three identical symbols on an activated payline in order to win its corresponding cash prize. The (+) and (-) arrows in the lower command bar are there to let you adjust the amount of you bet per line, while the Bet One switch allows you to activate as many paylines as you wish. Once you feel ready, hit Spin and watch the reels spin and slowly come to a stop, with hopefully a favourable outcome for you.
For maximum efficiency, use the Bet Max button and activate all paylines at once. The best way to win big is to take a risk and go all-in, and this little shortcut is there to let you do just that with just a click.
Fishy icons of all sorts
The various reel symbols of Neptune’s Kingdom represent the variety of creatures you would be likely to stumble upon during a beach holiday – only much more valuable this time.
The most common symbols are the red and white Fish, the Lobster and the colourful Tropical Fish. Their associated rewards are also quite modest so you will need a few winning combinations in a row to amount to a big prize.
The Trident and the Mermaid top off the short list of basic symbols, with bigger wins. In comparison to other slot games, Neptune’s Kingdom only has rather modest prizes so you will need a healthy dose of luck to win big – but again, true players have never been afraid of a little challenge.
Perseverance will lead to the treasure
The final symbol on the reels of Neptune’s Kingdom is worth at least twice as much as the Mermaid, and it might be the only way you have to win big in a single spin.
The Treasure Chest works a little differently in comparison to the other basic reel symbols. As always, you need three of them on an activated payline to trigger a win, but the amount of cash will depend on the payline itself.
For instance, a straightforward horizontal combination right in the middle of the screen is worth 100 times your wager, which is not bad given the other rewards available in the game. The two other horizontal paylines above and beyond are worth 110 times your bet, while the diagonals can be worth 130 or even 150 times the amount of your initial wager. This original way to calculate your final prize means that luck is especially important in Neptune’s Kingdom if you want to have a chance at hitting the largest wins available.
One for veteran players
Neptune’s Kingdom is a classic slot game that gives off a classic casino feel, which some players with a little experience spinning the reels will immediately recognize and appreciate.
For newcomers, Neptune’s Kingdom might be a little too challenging and the lack of Bonus feature could end up as a total turn-off. But with an open mind, the game still has plenty of possibilities.
