Hyper Galactic Slots
Leave the Earth behind and step into your brand new starship to explore the stars and venture where no one has gone before thanks to Hyper Galactic, a new video slot game developed by Nucleus Gaming. Hyper Galactic has a bit of Space Invaders in it, coupled with a handful of original features and some very decent cash rewards available at any time.
Not only does the game have an average volatility, but it also gives players high chances to extend each of their combination every time they spin the reels. Let’s see how this all works in our full review of Hyper Galactic.
To Infinity, and Beyond
In terms of design, Hyper Galactic is a great mix of old and new. The general theme and symbols are clearly old-school, think 1980s sci-fi, but the graphic quality itself has been upgraded to meet today’s standards.
As a result, the background is an abstract collection of shape and squiggly lines that vaguely resemble nebulas, while the reels and command bar in the centre are more metallic, like the dashboard of some mysterious starship flying faster than light across the galaxy. Without being too original, Hyper Galactic still has a pleasant universe to explore.
Faster Than Light
As far as the basic rules are concerned, Hyper Galactic is quite easy to get around to. The 5 reels actually support an open gameplay with 243 ways to win, and a betting range spanning from 25 to 125 credits per turn. The command bar is ultra classic, with plus and minus buttons to help you pick a wager and a max bet shortcut to go all-in. The autoplay mode, a classic in modern slot games, is also available.
Hyper Galactic has a fairly average variance and we were able to start scoring prizes early and quite frequently into the game. The size of each reward did vary greatly, though. Another positive point is the paytable itself, which is quite large. You have access to a lot of card icons plus cherries, 3 different bar signs, bells and golden 7s with a top prize of x1000 in play.
Synchronize Your Flight Data
Hyper Galactic has a generous wild symbol, which comes in the shape of a multi colored globe anywhere on the reels. This symbol can single-handedly replace all of the others, making it more likely to score an extra winning combination or 2 whenever it does so.
The most interesting feature of Hyper Galactic is probably the sync reel bonus. Basically, this means that 2 or more reels will become synchronized whenever you place a bet, ending up displaying the exact same symbols. You technically also have a chance to sync all 5 reels at one, resulting in one giant cash prize.
Only One Small Step for Mankind
If space and sci-fi are something you like, then the slot game world has you covered. You can try tracking down extraterrestrials in Alien Hunter by Playtech and win some free spins, or dive into the rich universe of Battlestar Galactica with its official slot game by Microgaming.
As far as sci-fi games are concerned, you have (almost) as many choices as there are stars shining in the night sky. Hyper Galactic is just one particular retro take on a popular theme.
Still Not Exactly a Giant Leap for Slot Games
To be perfectly honest, Hyper Galactic didn’t really leave a very strong impression on us. The graphics are honest, the rules classic and the winning possibilities are definitely there, but the game also lacked that “it” factor that makes the difference between a good and an excellent slot.
That being said, Hyper Galactic does have some quite interesting cash rewards on its menu, and an original sync feature that really spices up every spin you play.
