DraftKings has announced a partnership with the Lac du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians. It will see the Boston, Massachusetts-based firm launch retail sports betting in Wisconsin this week.
Subject to licensing and regulatory preliminaries, DraftKings will open one over-the-counter window and six sports betting kiosks at the Lake of the Torches Resort Casino on Wednesday. DraftKings took to X on Monday to announce the tribal partnership deal that gives the brand a sports betting footprint in its 28th US state, plus Washington DC, and Ontario, Canada:
The Chippewas and DraftKings haven’t wasted time mobilizing their combined forces for a retail sports betting launch following the tribe receiving news on April 9 that its amended gaming compact allowed it to offer Class III gaming (sports betting) in Wisconsin.

Lake of the Torches Resort Casino CEO Bill Guelcher expressed excitement at adding retail sports betting “as a new gaming amenity for our valued guests to enjoy.” In a press release, the CEO added the casino’s aim was to give its customers a sports betting brand that was widely recognized and offered an “extremely high quality product performance.”
DraftKings’ Vice President of Retail Michael Kibort, meanwhile, stated the top priority for his brand was to provide “a best-in-class customer experience” and that the chance to introduce it to Wisconsin was “a proud moment.”
