When Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler appeared on the Hustler Casino Live poker livestream in June, it did not seem like he particularly enjoyed his time at the table. It appears that others shared the same feelings about him. On Monday’s stream, HCL co-owner Nick Vertucci said that Butler will not be welcomed back to the show.
Butler refused to play for an hour and a half
Playing on the livestream, Vertucci, supported by others at the table, explained that Butler was rude most of the night off-stream. He said that Butler refused to play for an hour and a half because he did not want to play until his friend Neymar arrived. He also wanted to be seated next to the soccer star. Vertucci wasn’t overly upset about this, more annoyed that anything, but was willing to accommodate Butler.
Vertucci continued, saying that Butler was confused and irritated by some of the non-vanilla game features the other players enjoyed, like straddling, and decided he did not want to participate anymore.
“He got into an argument with [Dan] Bilzerian and someone else and he was just being an asshole,” Vertucci said. “Got up and said, ‘Fuck this.’”
Vertucci continued, saying that Butler was standing near the table ranting and raving and treating staff poorly, so he went up to him, touched him on the arm, and said, “Hey Jimmy, listen, is there anything I can do for you?”
Butler told him to get his hand off his arm, at which point Vertucci took his leave from the NBA star.
Vertucci added that a young man was later waiting patiently, hoping to get an autograph. And while Butler did agree to meet the fan, he did so begrudgingly.
