Detectives in Las Vegas have supplied shocking details of the stabbing and shooting at Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa that left two workers in critical condition over the weekend.
According to 8 News Now, investigators have described the Saturday stabbings that left one man with injuries to his face and another to his back as “unprovoked.” Detectives believe suspect Shayne Sussman, 25, was selling drugs in a bathroom, a claim backed up by an off-duty security guard who stated the suspect allegedly offered to sell him narcotics multiple times.
According to documents detailing the scene, one employee opened a door while polishing a floor when Sussman stabbed him. Right afterwards, the suspect attacked the second employee while he was walking through a hallway.
At 1:01am, hotel security found Sussman holding a bloody knife near the casino area where he reportedly exclaimed to one officer:
My heart. My heart is racing!”
One member of the security detail then shot Sussman, who staff described as “extremely under the influence” as he tried to flee the scene.
Sussman faces three counts of attempted murder and five of battery with the use of a deadly weapon. Judge Amy Ferreira declined to set bail, with Sussman due to appear in court Tuesday.
