With the World Series of Poker wrapping up in Las Vegas, Caesars has taken the opportunity to announce the dates for the second WSOP Paradise, which will run December 6-19 at Atlantis Paradise Island in the Bahamas. The highlight will be the $50m guaranteed $25,000 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em Championship, the largest guaranteed prize pool in live poker tournament history.
most comprehensive set of high roller and super high roller tournaments ever offered”
Partnering with GGPoker, WSOP Paradise “will feature the most comprehensive set of high roller and super high roller tournaments ever offered,” with buy-ins ranging from $2,500 to $1m. The full, detailed schedule is yet to come.
Last year’s inaugural WSOP Paradise was a risk on two fronts: a) poker players could experience “bracelet burnout” with yet another WSOP festival and b) it was up against both EPT Prague and the wildly popular WPT World Championship, which had a record $40m guarantee. The $50m guarantee for the upcoming WSOP Paradise Main Event is nearly as big as the combined guaranteed prize pools for the entirety of last year’s festival.
Apparently WSOP Paradise did well enough to give it a go again this year and the once again record-breaking World Series of Poker in Las Vegas likely gave Caesars confidence that the new poker boom is still on the upswing.
