The Maryland State Attorney’s Office has indicted a former blackjack dealer at MGM National Harbor for allegedly helping three cheaters “win” $43,250 from the casino. Jamie Smith allowed the players to see her cards before they had to make a decision and alter their stakes after the play. She even went as far as not taking their losing bets.
An internal investigator at the property noticed the incident while looking at surveillance footage in October 2023. The State Attorney for Maryland Aisha Braveboy said on Thursday during a press conference that it wasn’t just theft from the casino, but also the children in the region as the tax money from gaming operations flows into the Education Trust Fund.
