While FanDuel and DraftKings have long dominated the sports betting market in New Jersey, it looks like the power dynamic could be shifting. The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement released the March gross gaming revenue (GGR) figures on Tuesday, revealing that PointsBet jumped past DraftKings to finish second-best in the state for GGR.

FanDuel still led the way with $29.5m

Fanatics Betting and Gaming, which officially completed its takeover of PointsBet in the US market at the start of this month, posted total sportsbook revenue of $20.1m in March, beating out DraftKings’ $17.6m. FanDuel still led the way with $29.5m and the state-wide total for all operators was almost $90m.

Fanatics has a presence in 19 states with its Fanatics Sportsbook brand and is looking to compete with the big two players to increase its own slice of the action.

The plan is to transition the PointsBet sportsbook in New Jersey over to the Fanatics brand by the end of April. It has already cracked into the top five rankings in the New York betting market, which is consistently the biggest in the nation.
