Genesis Global Limited officially no longer has a Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) license. The regulator suspended the company’s license in January 2023 after it declared bankruptcy the previous month. The company informed about 140 employees in the days leading up to Christmas that they would be losing their jobs and might not receive any pay for December.

Genesis Global once controlled 23 online gambling platforms, including the Sloty, SpinIt, and Kassu brands.

Genesis was given one week from the date of the most recent judgment to pay any outstanding fees to the MGA and to show proof that it refunded players. It also has to immediately remove any mention of holding an MGA license from its websites.

Genesis Global’s liquidator is working with the MGA to try to ensure that players receive any outstanding balances. The company does have the ability to appeal the stripping of its license.

The Malta regulator has been busy so far in 2024, suspending Rush Gaming’s permit for an unspecified reason and canceling Betago’s license.
