Safeguarding players
Players and management of Scotland’s Rangers Football Club will to participate in gambling education workshops designed to help safeguard players and staff.
EPIC Risk Management will host the events, which will be funded by club sponsor Kindred. The workshops aim to help educate players and management on the pitfalls of gambling that so many in the past have experienced.
Former players will also take part to talk about their experiences with gambling. It’s hoped that the independent sessions will create a healthy relationship between soccer and gambling. The Ranger’s B team squad and women’s team will also take part. Selected academy teams will have separate events.

Karim Virani, the club’s Chief Commercial Officer, said that it’s important to have these discussions to help safeguard players, adding that the sessions led by former players are great as they go beyond “discussing the rule book and adding that key element of relatability.”
