Police in Florida arrested former NFL running back Dion Lewis at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tampa. The Seminole Police Department took him into custody at about 2pm Monday for “causing a disturbance and refusing to leave the premises” after a warning and charged him with misdemeanor trespass. Lewis was released from jail that night after posting a $500 bond.

Lewis played for six NFL teams during his ten-season career, including the New York Giants, Tennessee Titans, and the New England Patriots. He was a part of the Patriots team that won Super Bowl LI following an epic comeback against the Atlanta Falcons. The New York native retired in August 2021.
He joined the University of Albany football staff in March 2023 as a volunteer assistant coach before leaving the program in July. Lewis was involved in an altercation in June at a strip club; it is unclear if this is the reason for his departure from the university.
