A night raid by in the Australian state of Victoria by local detectives, a VIPER Taskforce, the State Liquor Unit, and a Public Order Response Team on an illegal Melbourne casino resulted in 21 arrests and added another dimension to the fall of disgraced gaming giant Crown Resorts. ?

One of the arrested was an ex-Crown employee. From outside Crown Melbourne on Thursday night, 7News Australia stated that police believe there to be more former Crown staff involved in the casino ring, which is suspected of links to organized crime.
The busted operation hidden in a factory was of high-end variety, with an AU$8,000 ($5,143) per head buy-in with up to 50 players a night. During the raid, law enforcement also discovered gaming tables and equipment, along with drugs and cash.
Westgate Police Division Inspector Scott Colson said when police seize large amounts of cash from organized crime gangs: “we know this deals a hammer blow to their ability to fund further illegal activity.”
