The Iowa State defensive lineman who allegedly bet against his own team has departed the program. Isaiah Lee, a starter in each of the football team’s dozen games last season, was one of the players hit with charges last week in an ongoing gambling-related probe.

The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation claims that Lee tampered with records in an attempt to hide his identity when betting online. He allegedly placed 115 wagers totaling $885 with a mobile sportsbook.

The activity included a dozen bets on Iowa State football games, including one game in 2021 when he bet on Texas to win. The Cyclones ultimately came out on top 30-7, with Lee making a single tackle.
