Another four Iowa State football players have been hit with charges in an investigation into gambling-related offenses. Some former players were also singled out by the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation as part of its probe into athletes allegedly wagering on games in which they were taking part.

Criminal complaint filings on Thursday provide details on some of the allegations, such as players trying to conceal their identities when betting online, tampering with records, and more. The team’s starting running back Jirehl Brock is one of the individuals in hot water.

Isaiah Lee allegedly wagered on Texas beating his own team

Defensive tackle Isaiah Lee allegedly wagered on Texas beating his own team in a 2021 game in which he was playing. Iowa State ultimately won 30-7, with Lee making a single tackle.

Each of the four players allegedly used the accounts of third parties to place wagers. They are not currently practicing with their team.

The issue of athletes engaging in sports betting has been widespread at both Iowa State University and the University of Iowa. One of the biggest names on the list was Iowa State’s starting quarterback Hunter Dekker, who faces a permanent NCAA ban if found guilty.
