A New Jersey man who was arrested at Wind Creek Bethlehem Casino for allegedly attempting to bribe an undercover Pennsylvania state trooper with 150 ecstasy tablets to kill his ex-girlfriend has allegedly inflicted more harm on the woman after authorities at Lehigh County Jail mistakenly released him.
I told you I would get out.”
The mistake has come to light following a gross negligence lawsuit brought by 39-year-old Dominic Escalera’s ex after the alleged 2021 attack and assault on her in Allentown. “Inexplicably released” from prison, Escalera headed straight to his ex-wife’s place and allegedly began terrorizing her, saying: “I told you I would get out.”
Escalera was arrested in 2021 on charges of hiring a paid killer to dispatch his ex and her brother. Instead of letting it lie, Escalera immediately made a beeline for his ex’s home when freed. Fortunately, the woman’s covert texts eventually alerted the authorities, who arrived to re-arrest Escalera.
The woman’s lawyer, Josh Karoly, claims the two-hour ordeal has caused his client post-traumatic stress and that she “lives in constant fear that Escalera will reappear in her home.” Karoly added: “It’s literally any victim’s worst nightmare,”
The suit blames Lehigh County and prison officials.
