Quality over quantity

ELK Studios has featured in VegasSlotsOnline News’ Slots of the Week more than 20 times since the round-up began in 2019. The Swedish game studio continues to break the mold of slot design with each new release, and its games have proven incredibly popular with players as a result.

three kinds of wilds and a bonus game for high-paying symbols

ELK’s freshest release is no exception to this. Offering high volatility and paying up to 50,000x stake, Buffalo Toro ensured ELK made yet another appearance in VSO News’ Slots of the Week. The desert-themed game features three kinds of wilds and a bonus game for high-paying symbols.

On the day of Buffalo Toro’s release, VSO News spoke with Jacob Nordwall, ELK’s creative manager – brand & marketing, to find out about the new game and see what makes the company tick.

Firstly, can you give us a bit of background on ELK Studios and your role in the company?

Since 2013, ELK has passionately pushed boundaries in the online casino industry in order to entertain and maximize the gaming experience for players.

Today, we have earned the privilege of supplying our mobile-first content through hundreds of licensed operators and partners around the world. With a focus on quality over quantity, we combine groundbreaking mathematics with astonishing artwork, in order to deliver high-quality products.

I ensure that our brand and products get the love and attention they deserve

As the creative manager – brand & marketing, I ensure that our brand and products get the love and attention they deserve, and guarantee all parties have what they need to push our products.

ELK Studios has made it into our Slots of the Week feature multiple times for its exciting games. How do you continue to create popular slots?

I think one of the key attributes is the way we look at innovation. We try to push the boundaries for each release and provide something that players haven’t seen before. With this mindset along with truly talented people, we strive to create the best slot ever made, every time.

Is there a secret recipe to the creation of great games, or do you change the process each time?

Producing slots since 2013, we have developed a strong foundation in the way we create games. That said, we feel comfortable deviating from that when needed in order to improve the end result.

Your newest release Buffalo Toro went live on Tuesday. Can you tell our readers a bit about the game?

Buffalo Toro is the fifth game in the Toro saga. This time Toro has traveled to the Wild West to rescue the last Golden Buffalos in existence. Chasing his tail is the Matador who’s determined to find them too, but only to collect their golden plaids.

giving players the option to jump straight into the action

The game mechanic is a six-reel, four-row slot inspired by the classic buffalo games, with our very own and beloved Toro feature. It also comes with 5 X-iter game modes giving players the option to jump straight into the action.

Have you got many more releases in the pipeline this year?

We have a stacked end of 2022, where players will see row expanding mechanics in Drops, another addition to our GOLD Series called Avalon Gold, and also a new game in our Classic Series called Freeway 7, just to name a few.
