Increased capacity in nevada
The new Resorts World Las Vegas prepares to open as Nevada has set a goal to be at 100% capacity by June 1. Just two months ago, Governor Steve Sisolak announced that as COVID-19 case counts improve, the casinos could go from 25% to 35% capacity. By mid-March, casinos were up to 50% capacity.
This month, the governor announced that all counties are expected to be back to 100% capacity by June 1. Casinos would be able to increase capacity as well, bringing back more employees and welcoming more guests. Sisolak praised the success of the vaccination programs in the state as one reason why things could get back to a sense of normalcy soon.
The Nevada Gaming Control Board has encouraged all operators to help employees with the vaccination process. Many companies such as Wynn Resorts, Las Vegas Sands, MGM Resorts, and Caesars Entertainment have opened on-site vaccination clinics to serve employees and their family members.
If the 100% capacity limit is reached, Resorts World Las Vegas will be able to offer services without any capacity restrictions once operational.
