DraftKings has announced the launch of a standalone mobile casino in New Jersey. The new online casino will feature products that are developed in-house by DraftKings, though third-party titles will also be included. New games will be on offer along with old favorites like roulette and blackjack.

The new product launches for iOS two years after DraftKings began offering online casino gaming in the Garden State; the casino games provided by DraftKings were previously included only in its sportsbook application. The company released the standalone option after completing extensive research on how to broaden its customer base.

Standalone mobile casino details, expansion plans

The new DraftKings Casino will offer content from various third-party developers including Slingo, International Game Technology, and Scientific Games. Along with traditional casino games, the platform will offer live casino games from Evolution Gaming. Those games will stream from the DraftKings Live Studio.

Jason March, vice president of gaming for DraftKings, called the DraftKings Casino app:

the company’s first perennial product that operates year-round irrespective of the annual sports schedules.”

March stated further that after the debut of the app in New Jersey, DraftKings anticipates expanding nationwide, planning to provide the app in other states where regulations allow.

Pennsylvania casino launch

The announcement of the new standalone mobile casino app comes not long after DraftKings launched an online casino in Pennsylvania. After state approval and a soft launch, the service went live in early May.

In Pennsylvania, an operator must have a land-based partner to offer iGaming. For DraftKings, that partner is Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course in Grantville. Hollywood Casino is owned by Penn National Gaming, which agreed to a deal with DraftKings in July 2019.
