More than $500,000 in prize money
Starting Wednesday, March 25 and running through Sunday, June 7, 888poker is hosting the “Galaxy of Freerolls” promotion. The promo gives poker players access to a score of poker tournaments that cost zero dollars to enter, but have more than $500,000 in combined real money prize pools.
Though winning significant money is very difficult in freerolls because of the combination of large player fields and relatively low prize money per tournament, the Galaxy of Freerolls should be a welcome promotion to 888poker’s customers.
a score of poker tournaments that cost zero dollars to enter
People around the world have been forced to stay home during the coronavirus pandemic and could use another form of entertainment. That the tourneys are free and offer the chance to win money is an added bonus, especially for those who are currently out of work.
Complete missions for freeroll tickets
There are three different freerolls during the two-plus month promotion. The $2,000 Venus Freeroll runs every day of the week except Sunday at both 16:25 GMT and 22:25 GMT. The $10,000 Neptune Freeroll is held each Sunday at 20:25 GMT. At the end of the promo is the $10,000 Super Saturn Freeroll on June 7 at 18:25 GMT.
While they are all free tournaments, there is still an entry requirement. Players will not be able to just login, register, and play. The qualification criteria are simple, though, and require minimal normal play. They should be achievable by anyone with even a tiny bankroll on 888poker.
The missions are easy. “The Tournament Voyager” mission is completed by playing in poker tournaments with buy-ins totaling at least $3. The “Ace-King Apollo Landing” mission requires players to win a cash game hand with A-K at minimum stakes of $0.02/$0.05. And the “Casino & Sport Atlantis Orbiter” mission is completed with casino or sports bets totaling $5.
Live tournaments moving online
As the coronavirus pandemic spreads, online poker rooms have been ramping up their offerings to serve the poker community that has been forced indoors. 888poker is one of the first to specifically target online players and further, those with small bankrolls.
