PGA Tour embracing sports betting

Since the ending of the federal ban on sports betting in the United States in May 2018, the PGA Tour has been making a lot of moves to embrace this burgeoning sector.

It was at the end of 2018 that the PGA Tour partnered with IMG Arena. This deal resulted in IMG Arena becoming the official data distributor for PGA Tour events, providing this data to sportsbooks across the world. This data is gathered through the use of ShotLink technology.

Gambling sponsors were also approved by the PGA Tour at the beginning of 2019. Commissioner Jay Monahan also has plans to start offering gambling on-site at events in states where sports betting has been legalized.
