13 WSOP Circuit rings to be won online
Starting Monday, February 25, poker players on WSOP.com will have a chance to win a World Series of Poker Circuit ring online. The site is hosting the WSOP.com Online Circuit, with 13 straight days of official ring events.
open to poker players in both New Jersey and Nevada
The Online Circuit is open to poker players in both New Jersey and Nevada. As the two states share online poker liquidity, participants located in each state will be competing at the same tables. Players do not have to be residents of either state to participate; they simply need to be within state borders while logged on.
The WSOP.com Online Circuit debuted in 2018.
Low buy-in, multi re-buy tournaments
One ring event will be contested each day from February 25 through March 8. Most of the tournaments begin at 4:00pm PT / 7:00pm ET. The exceptions are the two Sunday events, which kick off at 2:00pm PT / 5:00pm ET.
The caveat is that all but one event allow for at least two re-entries. The first event, the $200 No-Limit Hold’em Knockout, appears to be a freezeout tournament. The Main Event permits up to three re-entries per player.
There is more than $1 million in guaranteed prize pools across all 13 events.
Qualifying for Global Casino Championship
As in the regular World Series of Poker Circuit stops, those who participate in the WSOP.com Online Circuit will earn points based on where they finish in the tournaments.
The player who amasses the most points in the two weeks will be named Casino Champion. They will also receive a free seat in the season-ending Global Casino Championship.
player who wins the Online Circuit Main Event will get a Global Casino Championship bid
Additionally, the player who wins the Online Circuit Main Event will get a Global Casino Championship bid. If the Main Event winner and the Casino Champion happen to the same player, they earn just one free seat.
The Global Casino Championship is scheduled for August 2020 at Harrah’s Cherokee Casino in North Carolina. It is an invitation-only tournament, with the winner awarded a WSOP gold bracelet.
In addition to the Casino Champions and Main Event winner, the top 50 players on the WSOP Circuit season leaderboard who did not otherwise claim a seat also receive free entries.
Some players can buy-in directly for $10,000. These include the top 100 players on the 2019 WSOP Player of the Year rankings and every player who won a WSOP Circuit ring this season.
