Leaderboards for Hold’em and Omaha
On Tuesday, online poker room partypoker announced the launch of a new way for cash game players to be rewarded for their play: Cash Game leaderboards.
Online poker players typically see leaderboards that are limited to tournaments and just during special promotions, so partypoker’s offering stands out. The poker room also has Sit & Go leaderboards.
partypoker’s offering stands out
There are two Cash Game leaderboards: Hold’em and Omaha. Hold’em includes No-Limit Hold’em games and fastforward, as well as Short Deck Hold’em cash games. Omaha includes Pot-Limit Omaha, Pot-Limit Omaha Hi/Lo, and fastforward.
The Cash Game leaderboards run weekly. They start at Midnight Monday and go until 11:59pm Sunday. Prizes are paid into players’ accounts within 24 hours of the leaderboard ending.
Multiple buy-in tiers give everyone a shot
So as not to give the highest-stakes players an over-weighted advantage, the Cash Game leaderboards are split into four buy-in tiers: Micro, Low, Medium, and High. These tiers equate to cash game buy-ins of $1 to $10, $25 to $50, $50 to $100, and $250 to $1,000.
The levels appear to be the same for both the Hold’em and Omaha Cash Game leaderboards.
Players receive one leaderboard point for every cashback point they earn during regular real-money play. Heads-up games do not count. One cashback point is received for every dollar in rake generated. This is why the Cash Game leaderboards are split into tiers, as higher-stakes players generate much more rake than lower-stakes players.
Diamond Club and Diamond Club Elite players have their own leaderboards and do not qualify for the four tiers listed above. Because of the stakes and volume they play, these players would likely dominate the leaderboards every week.
Over $100,000 in prizes each week
Prizes, as one might expect, vary depending on the leaderboard. The Micro and Low leaderboards pay the top 250 places. The Medium leaderboard pays down to 80 spots, while the High leaderboard rewards the top 20 players.
The cash prizes range from $200 to $5 on the Micro board, $750 to $25 on the Low board, $1,000 to $50 on the Medium board, and $2,000 to $250 on the High board.
partypoker is giving away $102,200 in combined prizes
The prize breakdown is the same for the Hold’em and Omaha leaderboards. All told, partypoker is giving away $102,200 in combined prizes.
On the Diamond Club leaderboards, the prizes range from $4,000 to $500. The top 15 players will receive money. A total of $25,000 is guaranteed on those boards each week.
