Urgent request
Online gambling operator Mr Green has instructed all UK affiliates to stop promoting its online casino and live casino services until further notice.
The William Hill Group-owned company issued the demand via email on Tuesday morning. The short email cites compliance issues as being the reason behind the decision, and it also states that the company is working hard to resolve the issue.

UK affiliates are instructed to replace all online casino and live casino marketing materials with the brand’s sports betting offering instead.
Compliance changes
Mr Green blames compliance changes in the UK as being the catalyst for these advertising restrictions.
While the affiliate team at Mr Green has changed all casino banners to those promoting the sportsbook, the company has asked affiliates to contact their account manager if they notice any banners that continue to promote casino services.?
The message closes with a promise to get in touch once when the compliance issues have been resolved. Mr Green is hoping that affiliates will be able to resume advertising its online casino and live casino offerings in the near future.
It was just a couple of weeks ago that Mr Green suddenly withdrew its online sports betting services from the German market.
UKGC piling on the pressure
The UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) has been piling the pressure on gambling companies in recent months.
On January 14, the UKGC announced that it would be banning the use of credit cards to fund online gambling accounts. This ban comes into effect on April 14, 2020. This followed new anti-money laundering guidelines that came into effect in early January for gambling operators.
A cross-party group of MPs has also called for more restrictions on online casinos. This includes limiting the max stake for online slots to £2 ($2.61).
