Potion Factory Online Slot Machine Review
As you might have guessed from the title, this slot is set within a potion factory and is one of the busiest looking slots you’ll find online. The potion factory is run by minions, although these minions are not the ones you’ll find in the ‘Despicable Me’ series of films. These little characters are fun almost robotic little people, who add a great deal of colour to the game.
The slot is set against the backdrop of a crowded factory, with pipes running from one piece of factory equipment to another, the green potion seeping everywhere – making this possibly one of the least hygienic factories on the planet. Graphically the game is a good one, the cartoon feel giving the slot a great deal of humour – although you might consider that this is a little too crowded at times, with so much going on. The accompanying sound to the slot adds to the game, this is very much suited to the theme unlike some slots where the sound is somewhat generic.
The game has a number of features, including expanding wilds, nudges, a free spins round and an ‘X formula’ bonus round.
Set up and Play for Potion Factory Slot
This slot has the usual five reels found at the majority of online games; however you’ll find four symbols on each reel which differs from the norm. The slot has 40 win lines which are fixed, meaning you’ll not be able to play less than 40. There is an optional ‘nudge’ feature which will cost you the price of another 40 lines, however you’ll achieve many more wins as the slot will either nudge reels up or down by one nudge.
You’ll achieve a win if landing three or more consecutive symbols on a win line from left to right, starting with the leftmost reel. The highest paying symbol is the ‘PF’ game logo which pays 500x your coin amount when landing five in a row. The three minions are the next highest paying – the one dressed in blue paying 300x, green paying 200x and blue 150x. The other standard symbols in the game are different coloured potions, each with a playing card number attached (from 9 to Ace). If you move the mouse over any symbol you’ll see the pay-outs for that symbol on the slot itself.
The slot has an auto play option which you can set for up to 100 spins as well as requesting that it continues until you reach a bonus round, which will appeal to many players.
The wild symbol in the game is a round bottomed test tube and this will expand to take up an entire reel on the slot – this reel featuring all three minions jumping about in front of the test tube. This expanding wild will lead to many more wins than you’d find with a standard wild symbol.
To access the bonus features you’ll need to land the bonus symbol on reels 1, 3 and 5.
Potion Factory Slot Features
Having entered the bonus round you’ll be met by a wheel featuring a combination of wins, free spin amounts and ‘X formula’ bonus wins. A pointer will spin around the wheel and take you to the appropriate feature or give you the cash win.
The free spins round is somewhat straightforward, although should you land any of the wilds in this round they will stay in place throughout the entire feature, making it more profitable as the round continues.
The X-formula bonus round sees you select potions one after another. Keep clicking until you reveal the correct ingredients, as all the while the prize fund decreases – the quicker you get it right, the more you’ll win.
Having entered one of the features, you’ll return to the wheel and spin again unless the wheel indicated that this was your last bonus feature previously.
Potion Factory Slot – Conclusion
Leander has built something of a reputation for designing original slots with innovative bonus features and this is a prime example of that. The slot is one of the most colourful you’ll find online and with the expanding wilds and the optional nudge feature there is always something going on. This only gets better when the features come into play – the X-formula bonus round perhaps being the best part of the entire slot.
Leander have come up trumps with this game and it’s surely a slot you’ll return to having played it once – check it out for yourself soon.
